BTS Rehearsal Room Shenanigans…

Meet our Head Coach. 🏈💪🏾💄

Cynthia Dallas, a former WNBA player, steps into the role of Imani Othello: a woman who earned her headset and has to fight to keep it.

Dr. Patricia Akhimie's To Hear Her Speak: Black Women and Shakespeare at the Folger Shakespeare Library asks us to listen for Black women in Shakespeare's world. Our answer: put one on the sideline, calling the plays.

Help us pay the artist who brings her to life. $5,700 of $9,000 raised, 12 days to go. 🔗 in bio.

Here's our game plan, in real numbers.
More than half of our production budget, $20,630, goes straight to the artists: the cast, designers, dramaturg and crew who bring Imani Othello to the stage. The rest puts the show in the stadium: venue, tech, set and costumes. Swipe to see who your pledge pays. 👆🏾63% funded, 13 days left. 🔗 in bio.

Winning on and off the field! 🎉
Pittsburgh took the W over the Colts today, and our cast has been putting in work off the field too. 🏈

Yesterday our company sat down with Dr. Cheryl Hall-Russell, President of BW3 to dig into the journey of Imani Othello and the long history of Black women and labor: who gets hired, who gets doubted, and who gets pushed out once she reaches the top. That history is shaping every scene we stage.
Winning on the field takes a team. So does winning off it.

Help us pay the artists doing this work. 61% funded, 14 days left. 🔗 in bio.

Join us in celebrating Franky Gonzalez! 🎉 This Hispanic Heritage Month, our Othello of the Endzone playwright was named in USA TODAY. We couldn't be prouder.

Franky has also been through a lot recently. He shared that he suffered a stroke. When we asked about payment, he told us this work is his payment: a gift to his son and the legacy he wants to leave.

Artists want to make art. As a producer, it's my responsibility to find the people who understand how important that is and who are willing to give.

DEMASKUS is paying Franky $1,500 and bringing him home to Pittsburgh for opening night ($750) through our Kickstarter. Every gift helps:

Special thanks to Bishop Arts Theatre Center and Teresa Coleman Wash for commissioning him. ❤️

Kickoff 🏈 We're 61% of the way to the end zone! Othello of the End Zone, or The Steel City Tragedy puts a Black woman in the head coach's seat at the height of her power, then tests her with ambition, betrayal and doubt.

Every dollar 💵 we raise goes to the artists who make it: salaries and fees for the people on stage and behind it.
