What a day! 🌈🦝 Rainbow Raccoon Park was buzzing with activity Saturday as community members and volunteers worked together to prepare the park for winter. Together, we weeded garden beds, painted the basketball court lines, constructed a new stormwater management system to drain into our existing rain gardens, and so much more!

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our volunteers and community partners. A huge thank-you to:

More incredible vendors at the first ever Millvale Fright Night Market - Oct. 24; 4pm-9pm, Grant Avenue between Sheridan and Butler. Join us for more than 60 booths of local jewelry, clothing, artwork, decor and so many artisan baked goods! Salsa Pittsburgh will be hosting salsa street dancing, free lessons. Attic Record Store Pittsburgh will be spinning the tunes. Trick or Treat for the kids at all the artist vendors and participating businesses. Join us - rain or shine.

Many of you know Trevor Southworth, a longtime Millvale resident, superstar Gardens of Millvale volunteer, Millvale Community Library board member, and, for the past two years, Operations Manager for the Millvale Community Development Corporation.

Trevor has worked incredibly hard here at MCDC to streamline our business operations and has kept our finances and communications running smoothly. We are so thankful for his vision, time, commitment, and, of course, his incredible color-coded organizational skills!🌈

Trevor is off to pursue a new job opportunity, and we will miss his presence greatly. We want to congratulate him and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Thank you for everything, Trevor, and good luck! We encourage the community to wish Trevor well when you see him at the Gardens of Millvale or around town. 💚

Sophia Pappas Studio PDP continues to create the most beautiful posters for our Millvale business events: Small Business Saturdays, Spring Markets, and now, the first ever Millvale Fright Night Market! Save the date. Grant Avenue block closed off between Sherman and Sheridan. 40+ artist and Millvale vendors, free salsa dance lessons in the street, DJ by Attic Record Store Pittsburgh, food, drink specials, and treat baskets at each vendor/business for the little ones to trick or treat! It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. The Rainbow Raccoon Park received a major upgrade as the The Borough of Millvale, PA Public Works crew installed the new basketball hoops! Purchased with funding secured by the MCDC and from American Eagle - these hoops are designed to stand the test of time and provide fun options for our children and community as a whole - which is what it’s all about. We are not done yet but included a couple of bonus picks to remind ourselves of how far we have come.

For our furry friends at Harmony Dog Rescue, pop in to play a night of B-I-N-G-O to raise money for safe homes for dogs whose families are in crisis. Sept. 18th, 7-10pm in Etna.
