What a beautiful and Spirit-filled day at the North Country Christian Conference!
We began with powerful praise and worship, followed by a timely and meaningful message from Regina and Deb of Littleton, who shared their church’s faith journey. From there, we moved into the hall where a variety of stations gave people the chance to share their gifts with the larger body of Christ.
There was sewing, where experienced hands taught those new to the craft, including Sage Rodrigues. There was a pizza-making station, led by the hardworking and creative folks from Christ UMC, where people made pizza from dough to oven. Even the toppings became a reminder of how each of us brings different gifts and flavors to the body of Christ.
We were also blessed by a wonderful presentation from NH Fish and Game on the history and facts of wildlife in New Hampshire. Sharon Boyden led a very well-attended alternative medicine station, and the flower arranging station gave many the opportunity to work with their hands and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation. At the cribbage station, several people learned the game for the first time—though seasoned players like Cindy Coulombe and Bob Woodbury may have some competition before long!
We were deeply grateful for the presence and support of Rev. Dr. David Palmer, our District Superintendent, whose encouragement helped make the day even more meaningful. Laity and clergy from across the North Country came together to sing, worship, learn, laugh, break bread, and celebrate our shared life in Christ. It truly felt like a glimpse of God’s Kingdom.
And I have to mention the hymn sing at the closing service—we sang with such joy and enthusiasm it felt like the roof might lift! Sharing in the Sacrament of the Lord’s Table was another highlight, grounding us again in our identity as one in Christ.
My heart is full, and I could not be more pleased with how the day went. Special thanks to the congregation of Christ UMC, our host church, and to everyone who helped plan, prepare, lead, and serve.
To God be the glory!
