Building a stable routine is vital to all children, but especially true for children in foster care. Routines help children feel safe, they know what to expect, and can be comforted by the simple knowledge of "what happens next". Foster parents can provide a consistent home and schedule for the children in their home. They help them feel confident by knowing what to expect each day.

It's never too early to start planning for Christmas! We're looking for local churches and adult groups to help us transform the Children's Home campus into a festive space for the Christmas Season? We're looking for dedicated, hardworking, and enthusiastic churches and adult groups to participate in decorating the exterior of our cottages and other campus spaces with Christmas lights and decorations. Each cottage will have a theme - like Little Drummer Boy, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and more.

Foster families provide needed educational support for the children in their home. Many times children in foster care lag behind their peers in school due to circumstances beyond their control. It's difficult to do homework and study for tests when you're worried about where you'll sleep at night or if you'll have food to eat. Foster parents step in the gap to help provide children with tutoring and educational services when needed.
Are you willing to fill that gap? Are you willing to help care for children during a difficult time in their lives? The Free Will Baptist Children's Home is excited to announce a historic $500,000 allocation in the 2026 NC General Assembly budget to support the work of the Home in serving children and families.

Foster care is about more than providing a temporary home for a child in a difficult situation. It’s about creating lifelong connections. Children in foster care need caring adults who will support, encourage, and stand by them through life’s challenges and successes.
Many foster families become lasting sources of love, guidance, and family long after a child leaves their home. A caring connection can change a child’s future forever.
