At just 31 years old, Joshua Silva never expected a trip to the ER for stomach pain to lead to a kidney cancer diagnosis. His story is a powerful reminder that cancer does not discriminate by age and that listening to your body matters.

“Like a lot of people, I ignored the signs because I thought I was healthy. I thought, ‘I’m unstoppable.’”

We are grateful Joshua chose to share his journey in hopes of helping others recognize symptoms, seek answers, and know they are not alone.

Joel often reminded our community: “It’s a Marathon, Not a Sprint.” To honor his impact and the spirit he brought to our kidney cancer community, we created a limited-edition shirt featuring one of his favorite sayings. Joel poured his heart into supporting patients and caregivers helping lead A Patient Open Forum, supporting our Stage IV support community, and helping shape our annual Celebration of Life gatherings.
