This past week Nepal experienced devastating mudslides as a result of massive flooding.

In response, RipplAffect is launching an emergency fundraiser to help people who are now dealing with loss and destruction on so many levels. We can’t bring back lives or property, but RipplAffect can bring clean water.

A local team is waiting in Nepal, ready to begin distribution. Now we are raising the funds necessary to purchase the planned 1000 filters. 100 are already covered, so we are off to a good start.

Because this is an immediate need, we are now launching an 18 day plan to raise $18,000, so we can send the 1000 filters as quickly as possible. Volunteers are waiting to distribute them.

Throwback Thursday. Watch what RipplAffect and Project Propel were able to do in The Philippines 2026 – Impact at a Glance

In 2026, RipplAffect continued expanding access to clean, safe drinking water throughout the Philippines through our valued partnership with Project Propel.

Through this major initiative, 1,550 Sawyer water filtration systems were distributed, reaching 26 municipalities and communities across Metro Manila and 23 additional provinces and cities. The program is estimated to serve more than 13,000 people, including children, families, students, teachers, schools, and underserved communities where reliable access to safe drinking water remains a daily challenge.

The initiative has reached communities across Metro Manila, Laguna, Cavite, Mindoro Occidental, Batangas, Quezon Province, Pangasinan, Palawan, Rizal, Bulacan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, and other areas of the Philippines.

Beyond distribution, this project includes education on proper filter use, demonstrations, follow-up visits, backwashing and maintenance training, and direct conversations with beneficiary families to help ensure the filtration systems continue providing safe drinking water for years to come.

Watch with us the India Clean Water Project of 2026 - Restoring Sight, Protecting Health

Follow the entire journey, from arrival and preparations, to community outreach, education, and the distribution of clean-water filtration systems to families in need.

This trip demonstrated RipplAffect’s collaboration with Dr. Jacob Prabhakar, a humanitarian who has restored sight to thousands of people through cataract surgery and compassionate medical care.
But surgeons don’t work alone. They need clean, safe water, and that is where RipplAffect comes in, providing clean water for both the surgery and recovery times.

Safe water supports basic hygiene, reduces exposure to waterborne bacteria and disease, and helps create healthier conditions for patients. The effects of clean water, especially for families already facing poverty, will last long after the medical team leaves.

Families in India received filters that will grant them, not a temporary “fix,” but a process that will deliver clean, safe water for many years to come.

A small RipplAffect team has just returned from Columbia, but work continues in The Philippines.

A few weeks ago, RipplAffect distributed 50 filters in Lian, Batangas and just like that, changed the lives of more than 300 people.

$30 buys a filter. $30 opens the door to a full and healthy future for families struggling with the devastating effects of dirty and contaminated water.

August 10, 2926 brought a devastating earthquake to the people of Columbia. RipplAffect’s American volunteers are a short 75 miles away, and are all safe, but the people at the earthquake site face a long and difficult recovery.

The RipplAffect team continues its work in Ibague, Columbia, meeting families, hearing stories, and sharing the life giving gift of clean water.

Just this week a 7.4 earthquake struck western Columbia, only about 75 miles from where the team, including Stephanie and Wendy, two Kettering College students, is working.
They are fine and grateful to report that the tragedy has not interrupted RipplAffect’s current effort.

The earthquake has severely damaged Colombia’s infrastructure, and thousands are without clean water, showing us again how fragile the world’s water supply can be. RipplAffect is trying to help so many, but can’t do it alone.

RipplAffect is busy in Columbia.

Preparing for filter distribution is Hard Work!

Yesterday, RipplAffect volunteers spent the day preparing 1000 filters and buckets for distribution in Colombia. That means drilling holes in the buckets and assembling the components that will then be ready to handle the work of filtering Thousands of Gallons of water.

On Sunday, the team, along with volunteers from It Is Written, and led by RipplAffect board chair Shelley Perez, will begin the process of distributing the filters to families desperate for clean water.

45 Water Filters!
A small number that translates to more than 300 changed lives!

The RipplAffect team met with the people of Barangay, Cayabou, Tanya, Rizal in The Philippines and distributed those 45 life-giving filters. And that changes everything.

This desperately poor community gets most of their water from a natural spring, one locals fear is contaminated. Most of the children suffer from bouts of diarrhea, almost surely from drinking the water from the spring.
But what can they do? It is their only water supply.

Today, thanks to RipplAffect filters, our volunteers, and the generosity of our donors, those children now have access to clean drinking water and a chance for a healthier life.

Last week the RipplAffect volunteers in The Philippines visited the Sto Rosario Elementary School in Pateros, Philippines, where they delighted the students and staff by turning dirty water into clean, clear, delicious drinking water.

This school has 365 students and 15 staff members, which equals to Hundreds of people whose lives will be improved with the gift of clean water.
