We’re kicking off a new series introducing you to the incredible people behind Vocal Youth Miami!

First up is Jamie, our Founder & Executive Artistic Director, the vision, heart, and leadership behind so much of what we do. 💜

From her love of Wicked to traveling and spending quality time with the people she loves, Jamie has a way of making people feel at home around her. This fall, she’ll be leading our MUSE ensemble while continuing to guide Vocal Youth Miami into an exciting new season!

“New Eyes” is an original song written and performed by students in Vocal Youth Miami’s 2026 Summer Camp in collaboration with Miami artist Adrian Gonzalez.

Over the course of the summer, our young artists worked with Adrian to create a song about finding hope when the world feels divided, seeing the beauty around us with new eyes, and remembering that every voice matters.

This video captures their live performance of “New Eyes” at our 2026 Summer Camp.

At Vocal Youth Miami, we believe young people deserve more than the opportunity to sing someone else’s story. They deserve the tools, encouragement, and space to tell their own.
