Art for Afrikids

Art for Afrikids Art for Afrikids started as a hobby during the 2020 Covid lockdown.

It has since blossomed into a thriving fundraising operation for AfriKids a nonprofit focused on improving the lives of underprivileged youth in the Arusha region of Tanzania.

Excited for our 1st show of 2026 at Art Under the Oaks this Saturday Jan 17 in the Florida Keys. The annual fine art & crafts festival takes place on the gorgeous grounds of San Pedro Church at 89500 Overseas Highway in Tavernier. Drop by our booth to say hello and check out Laurie’s latest shell art creations. West Coast Connection! A huge thank you to our California buddies Cat & Wolfie, who schlepped 3.5 hours up the coast in search of the perfect oyster shells. They hit the jackpot at an undisclosed location near San Luis Obispo. We look forward to transforming these elongated lovelies (some as big as size-12 flip-flops!) into glorious shell art for our Afrikids fundraisers. Cat & Wolfie are not only boffo beach scavengers, but also long-time supporters of AfriKids. We are so grateful for all they do for us & especially for the kids. Can’t wait to pick up our giant box of flip-flops when we visit California in May 🩴👩🏻‍🎨🎨🖌🐚🪸🐠🦑🐢🦪🐙🌴☀️
