Many of us are doing great things in our neighborhoods of service. One of our community partners, Village (FREE)DGE & Pantry holds a community farmers market every Thursday & Saturday, a great example of community support and caring
Every week, UGW picks up produce from the pantry and drops it off to our site for what we call "circular disposal".
Everyone doing their jobs and following their missions help to create this "circular disposal" of the huge "excess of food found in the U.S.
At the end of the day when done correctly, all of that eventually ends up right back on your plate as healthy, nutritious food.

Plastic pollution in Biscayne Bay didn’t happen overnight—and it won’t disappear overnight either. Decades of plastic waste have accumulated in one of South Florida’s most important ecosystems, threatening marine life, water quality, and the habitats that make our bay so unique.
 
There have been meaningful efforts through community cleanups, local organizations, research, and policy changes, but the work is far from over. Protecting Biscayne Bay requires continued commitment from our communities, leaders, and future generations.
 
Every small action contributes to a healthier bay. Together, we can create a future where Biscayne Bay thrives for years to come. 🌊💙
