Congratulations Cody! We look forward to presenting your award to you. We will be setting up a time to meet with you.

Everyone nominated has done a fantastic job and changed the lives of so many. Being nominated by the ones you are working with day in and day out is truly an acknowledgement that you are making a difference. Thank you Cody, Mandi, Darcy, Rose, Claire, and Harley for all you do to help Missouri Foster Families and Kids.

🥁 DRUM ROLL PLEASE!! 🥁

We received 6 nominations this year for the Angel Wings Pinwheel Award. This is our first year doing this and we appreciate everyone that took time to nominate a worker. This will be an every April award during Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The heartwarming nomination letters made it difficult to choose one person and no one was nominated twice. In an effort to make it fair we decided to let the wheel decide.

Every nominee will receive an award however we had to choose one to receive the 2026 Angel Wings Pinwheel Award.

She was our child's soul caseworker from 2 months to the end of the case. She advocated for her and then for her sibling. She helped us get medical care in line with tricky situations. At adoption, our kiddo wanted her and she held our kiddo, they had a hard time saying goodbye because by then she felt a bit like family around here. She puts her whole heart into her cases.

She went above and beyond to work to protect our child's sibling when entering and navigating care early on. She tried to prevent additional trauma via the court system however possible. She got to truly know the child, the family, and the placement in the case. She helped us get things to a safe level before stepping away. She advocates for children like they are her own.

We’d love to nominate Darcy Torix (Howe) for our favorite Caseworker because she truly does this work with her whole heart. You can see it in everything she does, how she shows up, how she talks to people, how she never treats this like just a job. She puts real care into every decision, every conversation, and every child she works with. It’s not forced or surface-level, it’s genuine, and it matters.
What stands out most is how deeply she cares about people. She takes the time to listen, to understand, and to make sure everyone feels seen and supported. She celebrates the good moments, encourages you when you need it, and always leads with kindness. There’s a warmth about her that you just don’t come across often in this kind of work. Mandi took me under her wing and was always there for me. When I was in college she drove to Maryville (4 hours) to pick me up and bring me home so I could see my family. Mandi is part of the reason I aged out of Care and went to work in foster care. During that car ride we had really good conversations about life and what was ahead for me. Mandi has spent so much time ensuring that the children and families she worked with were successful. The amount of hours she has worked has gone unseen and unnoticed. She has been the glue and constant on Audrain county. When everyone has left, she has stayed. I appreciate Mandi and her heart and love for the children and families she has always fought so hard for!

I am nominating Cody Weeks for my favorite caseworker. Cody is our current caseworker out of Greene County. I've never seen Cody without a smile on his face. Even on the hard days and when things are stressful, you would never know. Cody goes above and beyond, trying to make sure he is available, even when he's on vacation! He gives me the peace of mind as a foster parent to know that he is listening. He truly has the child's best interest as his number one focus. As a longtime foster parent, I have worked with many caseworkers, and I can truly say Cody is one of the good ones.....my favorite!

(I know we are running behind) This is the 1st annual Award. Rose was nominated by Ashley Thomas and Emma Cravins. Following is what was written about Rose 🌹

Rose is, without question, the best caseworker we’ve ever had. She consistently goes above and beyond whether that means dropping everything to meet us at a doctor’s appointment, making time the same day to pick up or drop off items, or simply always answering the phone (which, as we all know, is rare).
What truly sets Rose apart is how deeply she cares. She is fully invested in the children she serves and the families they’re placed with, always making sure every need is met. Our kids absolutely adore her they light up and run to greet her the moment she walks through the door.
To Rose, these aren’t just names on a file they’re children she genuinely knows, understands, and advocates for. She can speak about them in detail without ever needing to look at paperwork. That level of dedication is something special, and it’s exactly why Rose deserves this recognition.

This is YOUR chance to pick your favorite caseworker to receive an award for April's Child Abuse Prevention Month.

How do you nominate a caseworker?
Send a Pm to Angel Wings with the following information. MUST HAVE ALL information filled out.

1) Workers Name (first & last)

3) Name of who is nominating
4) At least a paragraph as to why you are nominating them.
