Sunday, September 20, 1:00 p.m.
315A Main Street, Metuchen

You are invited to the book launch of the debut novel Model Citizens: The Wings

Citizens is a fast-paced, heartfelt novel about friendship, courage, mentorship, and the extraordinary things that can happen when two generations come together with a common purpose. As five young friends discover a hidden hangar and an unexpected group of retired veterans, pilots, and mechanics, they learn life lessons that reach far beyond aviation.
Join us in celebrating a story that reminds readers of all ages that wisdom is meant to
be shared, imagination still matters, and every generation has something to teach the

Meet Featured Artist Sonya Elefante at the Friends of Metuchen Gallery this Sunday, September 6, from 1-3 pm.

Sonya Elefante is a therapist and artist. She believes art is a vehicle for connection and change. She creates art in many forms, some favorites include painting, collage, printmaking, photography, and mosaic.

Sonya currently serves as the Chair of the Highland Park Arts Commission and has been a member for several years. Her work can be found in group shows throughout New Jersey, and she has a few public art pieces installed locally. Recently, she lead an Arts Commission initiative to create and install three Free Little Art Galleries. This public art project encourages the community to create, share, view, and take tiny art. She loves helping others cultivate their creativity and regularly facilitates workshops and art making events.

In addition to making art, Sonya enjoys being in nature and is an advocate for animals and our environment. She spends much of her time with her dog Charlie, a very good and silly boy who likes walks, attention, and treats.

FOMA is proud to be a sponsor for this event!
What does a 240-year-old square piano sound like when paired with a brand-new masterpiece? This Sunday, come see and hear this rare historical treasure.
Rise Up Community Arts invites you to experience the world premier of "Reflections” - an unforgettable concert bridging centuries of storytelling, brilliant music, and living history.
DATE: Sunday. August 30
TIME: 4pm -6pm
LOCATION: 250 Grove Avenue, Metuchen at Neve Shalom
At the center of this performance is Ignatius Sancho: an 18th-century composer, writer, and former enslaved man who became the first known Black Briton to vote in a parliamentary election. His vibrant music and letters captured the spirit of an era—and now.
Acclaimed composer Trevor Weston brings Sancho’s powerful prose directly to life in "Reflections," a captivating new song cycle written specifically for this program. These original works will be performed by The The Raritan Players, featuring soprano Sonya Headlam and keyboardist and musicologist Rebecca Cypess who will perform on the rare square piano built in 1780.
Additional sponsorship for this performance is from the Middlesex County NJ Government Board of Commissioners and the Friends of Metuchen Arts.
