Music helps kids learn problem-solving, collaboration, confidence, and more crucial life skills. Our focus isn't just on making beautiful music together but on setting up kids with strong character and life skills for a lifetime of success in whatever they do. We lend instruments and provide music lessons, mariachi education, mentoring, programming, and performance opportunities. Regardless of a c

During a recent trip to the Dominican Republic, Desert Sounds Executive Director Jennifer Crews had the opportunity to learn about Dominican musical traditions and even try her hand at playing the requinto, a lead guitar used in bachata music.
