Last fall, you helped make our Sombreros for the Soul campaign a success. Today, we're excited to share that our handcrafted sombreros are complete and on their way from Mexico!

Soon, our mariachi students will proudly wear them as they take the stage this season.

After 18 years of serving children and families through music—and the last 10 years in our downtown Mesa home—we've been given an incredible opportunity to move into a larger space that will allow Desert Sounds to grow for years to come.

Desert Sounds is raising $50,000 by August 12, 2026, to prepare our new home before we move. Together, we can transform a new building into a vibrant space where children continue to learn, rehearse, perform, and build lifelong confidence through music.

During a recent trip to the Dominican Republic, Desert Sounds Executive Director Jennifer Crews had the opportunity to learn about Dominican musical traditions and even try her hand at playing the requinto, a lead guitar used in bachata music.
