Ricky’s Story

Ricky was diagnosed with an auto immune disease called Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (aHUS) on October 19th 2018. His immune system was triggered to fight off food poisoning he received from eating at a fast food restaurant in June 2018. Because his immune system would NOT shut off after it took care of the food poising issue it attacked his kidneys. Ricky spend most of October, November, and December in and out of the hospital. Unfortunately January 1st 2019 his was diagnosed with FULL kidney Failure.

Now Ricky does Peritoneal Dialysis at home every night and receives a bi-weekly infusion of Eculizumab to suppress his immune system. On April 9th 2019 Ricky started the evaluation process at Mayo Clinic to get on the kidney transplant list. We are trying to raise $20,000.00 to cover costs for the Kidney Transplant procedure.
