The Better Business Bureau serving Greater Denver is dedicated to promoting and fostering the highest ethical relationships between businesses and the public through voluntary self-regulation, consumer and business education, and service excellence. The Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau is registered in the State of Colorado as a 501(c)(6) business membership organization. Unlike a chamber of
commerce, however, we have a strong component of our mission to serve the public at large. In fact, our focus is on the middle ground between buyers and sellers: we work to create, support and maintain a safe, fair, thriving marketplace. When you enjoy the services of any Better Business Bureau, remember that we are a nonprofit organization that is not supported by tax dollars. While our work is made possible by the dues of individual businesses, we take extreme care to maintain an unbiased, balanced approach to our activity in the marketplace with members and nonmembers alike. BBBs exist because local businesses are willing to underwrite our operations. These businesses do so because they believe that the local marketplace becomes a better place to live, work, and raise a family when it operates fairly and safely. Businesses who join the BBB (traditionally a very small percentage of all businesses in the region) therefore contribute to the betterment of the community for all residents. Virtually all of the service we provide--including the maintenance of this web site--is free to the public. Business reviews are free, and our dispute resolution services are free. The only programs within our organization that are fee-based are arbitration and mediation sessions. Everything else we do is a community service to the public, underwritten for you by business owners who believe in the importance of our non-commercial role, in the integrity of the unbiased reliability reports, and in the dispute resolution services we provide.
