August 1st its the 4 man best ball tournament
We are goin to have it in Quimby just like every year
But here's the deal !

Teams you can start signing up June 1st
Here is how :

26 teams is all we are goin to take again so sign up fast before they are all gone ....
And please if you sign up and end up not being able to play that's fine just call and let Adam or one of the members of the department know so we can go down the list and get another team added to your spot .

If you haven't made contact with a member of the Meriden Fire & Rescue for the gun raffle you may want to do it soon . We are getting very low on tickets. We will be starting the drawing June 24th and will be giving away 6 guns at that months meeting.....

So if you want a ticket hit us up soon before they are all gone and you have to wait for the next year's raffle .

Keep your eye on the weather today . If you live in Meriden and don't have a basement. The basement at the community center will be unlocked and you are welcome to go there for safety.

The City of Meriden along with the Meriden Fire Department has secured a band for the street dance this year. If you haven't seen this country rocker . You will want to see this local electric show . Dane is a local musician from right here in northwest Iowa . A native of Sgt Bluff he remembers where he is from ...... Dane has been at shows all over the U.S and has opened for many national Acts ..

Look for Dane LM to show up at a local bar , lounge, and Tavern around the nation.
Dane has traveled to Nashville on several occasions. And has recorded many songs of his own . As a singer song writer . He won't disappoint.

It's international Fire Fighters day.
I would like to thank all the men and women that service their community, but I would also like to thank the 22 men and women that work with me and trust in me to make the right decision on a day-to-day basis.
You guys make my job easy.

So thank you all for your commitment to the Meriden citizens both rural and in town!

Tonight Meriden Fire & Rescue did some land management. This helps with not just land management. But it helps with with managing the life cycle of the seasons. Burning the prairie helps with animal life cycles as well as cleans the dead under growth. If you see a fire department out burning this stuff .

We are helping the environment. This is a natural thing .

What a great little town we live in and service.
I can't say thank you enough.

Also thank you to the Family Table. All the pancake mix was donated by Ed Otto.
Fareway donated the milk.
