When school ends, kids lose access to free school meals. For many families, that can mean stretching already tight grocery budgets even further. The good news is that resources in our community, like Summer Meals, Summer EBT, SNAP, and WIC, can help ensure children continue to have access to nutritious food throughout the Summer ☀️

Your feedback is important. We need to understand the obstacles you face each day so we can allocate resources to support you.

At Brightside Up, we're examining whether child care providers in the Capital Region might benefit from establishing a substitute pool. If your program experiences staff absences, staffing ratios, or closures due to a lack of available substitutes, please complete the Substitute Pool Survey – Fill out form.

Please take this short survey, Substitute Pool Survey – Fill out form, as soon as possible, as we hope to use the data to respond to the need.

We believe that creating a substitute pool can help stabilize service delivery by allowing OCFS-licensed or registered providers to quickly call upon trained, vetted, background-checked substitutes. A substitute pool may help to ensure staffing and supervision standards are met, keeping programs open and dependable for families.

Please feel free to contact Abbe Kovacik at [email protected] with questions. We greatly appreciate your assistance.
