🎉 Community Night 2026! 🚲

Members of the Menands PBA had a great time taking part in the Village of Menands’ Annual Community Night last night! It was a wonderful evening filled with fun, community spirit, and the opportunity to meet some new faces throughout the Village.

We were also excited to raffle off two bicycles to some lucky members of our community! 🚲🎉

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hello, and helped make the evening such a great success. We’re proud to be part of such a great community and look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

The Menands PBA extends its deepest condolences to the Schenectady Police Department on the heartbreaking loss of Detective Timothy Higgins following his courageous battle with cancer.

Detective Higgins dedicated his life to serving and protecting his community with honor, professionalism, and commitment. His legacy of service and sacrifice will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Detective Higgins’ family, friends, loved ones, and all of our brothers and sisters at the Schenectady Police Department during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Detective Higgins. Thank you for your service.

Today, we proudly celebrate 250 years of freedom, courage, and the enduring spirit of the United States of America. As we honor the generations of Americans who have defended our nation’s ideals, we also celebrate the communities that make this country strong.

The members of the Menands PBA wish everyone a safe, happy, and memorable Fourth of July. Whether you’re spending the day with family, friends, or neighbors, take a moment to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy and the sacrifices made to protect them.

As you celebrate, please remember to celebrate responsibly. If you’re enjoying alcoholic beverages, designate a sober driver, never drive impaired, and look out for one another. If you’re attending fireworks displays, follow all local laws and safety guidelines to help ensure everyone has a safe holiday.

Last night, members of the Menands PBA had the honor and privilege of presenting the Chief Al Graffunder Memorial Award to two students during the Menands School graduation ceremony.

This year, the Menands PBA is proud to announce that Rachan Gowda and Aaric Ronand are the recipients of this year’s award. We’d like to congratulate them, and the rest of the Menands School Class of 2026! Have a safe and enjoyable summer!

Standing Together, Serving Together

The Menands PBA stands in full support of the Menands Fire Department following the devastating fire that destroyed their station and equipment on Sunday.

While buildings and apparatus can be replaced, the dedication, courage, and commitment of the men and women who serve this community cannot. In the face of this loss, we stand shoulder to shoulder with our partners in the Menands Fire Department as they continue their mission of protecting and serving the residents of Menands.

The Menands PBA and the Menands Fire Department remain united, resilient, and committed to the people we proudly serve. Together, we will move forward, overcome this challenge, and continue serving our community with the strength, professionalism, and pride that Menands deserves.
