3 days.. 2 games… NEVER enough time spent with the Newcastle Eagles 🦅🏀

We cannot thank NewCastle enough for hosting us for a 2nd time and giving our athletes not only the opportunity to compete against their top club teams but more importantly a chance to make new connections through this game we all love! 🩵🌀

Once again we tasked the girls with making the trek to the Vertu Arena on foot through the city which did not disappoint! They were met at the arena by a professional photographer who captured all the smiles and highlights! 📸🤳🏼

Always a battle on the hardwood between the Herricanes and Eagles. We were lucky enough to sneak out with 2 hard fought victories but not without being pushed to the limit…
Looking at you Lexie Walton … this girl is a walking bucket! 🪣 😤

10 days away from the Halfcourt x Herricanes Summer Basketball Camp! ⛹🏻‍♀️🏀🌀

This is an incredible opportunity to learn from the best—the camp is led by Emily Dobson, owner of Halfcourt 3v3, former collegiate basketball player and current Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Skidmore College. ⛹🏻‍♀️💜

When: August 24th – 28th, from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Where: Join us at the Boys and Girls Club, located at 544 Broadway, Rensselaer, NY 12144. 📍

Who can attend: We are welcoming rising 3rd – 5th graders (all genders) and rising 6th – 8th graders (girls). 🏀

Cost: $285 per athlete, with a special discounted rate of $235 available for Herricanes, siblings, and Boys and Girls Club members. 🌀

Forever grateful to the Newcastle Eagles for the hospitality during our stay in Newcastle. 🦅 🏀

Training and skill development are the foundation here. Not only were we given the opportunity to play against 2 of their Academy teams but our girls were also given the opportunity to workout with 2 professionals. ⛹🏼‍♀️

Chloe Gaynor and Ian Macleod were nice enough to take time to workout our girls. Focus was spent on playing off 2 feet in the paint, finishing off balance and utilizing lateral movement on jump stops. Newcastle is also too beautiful to not take the mile stroll to the Vertu Arena ⛹🏼‍♀️🌀

Coach Chloe played Division 1 at Long Beach State in California before heading back to England to play professionally. Chloe retired from playing in 2024/2025 to accept the position of Head Coach for the Newcastle Eagles Women’s Professional team. 🦅🏀

Coach Ian leads player development for Newcastle while also assisting on the Great Britain National Team. 🇬🇧🏀

London was MEMORABLE once again! 🇬🇧🏀📸

3 days is never enough!

London trip is also never complete without taking on Barking Abbey Basketball 🏀🇬🇧

First and foremost, we could never take this city on without our own Andrea Congreaves leading the way! ⛹🏾‍♀️🏀
After-all this is HER city! 💯

Andrea once again surprised our girls upon arrival in London. Similarly to last trip, on Gameday our girls were tasked with navigating their own way to Barking Abbey. This included navigating multiple stops and transfers on the Tube! 🚇 Of course Coach Andrea would lend assistance as needed. 🇬🇧
Upon arrival to the game the girls were surprised with professional photography! 📸

Barking Abbey is one of London’s premiere clubs routinely sending players to both the British National Team along with America to play D1. Looking at you Megan Verbeeten 🔥
To compete against a club of this caliber and to do so while being coached by one of the most accomplished basketball players of ALL-TIME is both an honor and an experience our girls will take with them for the rest of their lives. 🌀🏀

It truly is about more than a game . . .

Game 2 in Manchester against the Mytics was a DREAM!! 🏀

- 24 second clock ⏰
- WNBA 3-point line 🎯
- Technical foul for clapping on a defensive close-out…
(ask Masey Raymond about that one 🤷🏻‍♂️😂)

The day started with the pre-game ritual of a team picture. 📸

A very back and forth 1st half saw our squad down 41-31 at halftime. Think this group was going to let that slide? Nah. . This TEAM is built for this! 🌀
After a halftime lock-in, it was on GO! 🏀🔥

A massive team effort on BOTH ends of floor in the 2nd half lead to a final minute pull from behind 63-59 win for Coach Nick’s squad! 🌀

Masey Raymond completely took the game over with 2 minutes left hitting 2 of the biggest 3 point shots of her life in tallying 8 4th quarter points to finish with 14. 🪣

Raelynn Parks was that girl all game with 20 points, 10 rebounds! They were sending a 2nd defender by games end. 😤

Alyssa C***s scoring 5 straight on 2 possessions with her team down by 4 with 3 minutes left! 🏀🔥

Aileana Engelson tossing in 9 points of her own including the game sealing bucket in the final seconds! ⛹🏻‍♀️

Adriana Sheppie starting the scoring off with a 3 pointer from the parking lot and controlling the tempo 🚨✈️

Lizzy Blanch looked a LOT like Luka out there facilitating the rock and setting everyone up for success! Ball control, big time assists, and timely buckets 😤

Paige Vines always finds herself leading the fight on the glass. 8 rebounds and a huge late game bucket in transition. 🔥

Jordan Parks may have had her signature Parks sister moment! Scroll right to see Jordy start our 2nd half comeback with suffocating defense and a steal leading to big sis coming thru with a transition layup! 🔥
