Melissa Education Foundation Development Coordinator
Melissa Education Foundation is a volunteer driven / volunteer run organization serving the Melissa ISD community in raising / disbursing funds for Melissa ISD Graduating Senior Scholarships and Teacher Grants. Working closely with the MEF Board of Directors and MEF staff, the Development Coordinator will support fundraising, operations and donor / volunteer cultivation efforts. In addition, the Development Coordinator acts as a liaison between board members, donors / volunteers and vendors. This position promotes collaborative efforts and relationships between Melissa ISD and MEF and will represent MEF at assigned public, community and MISD events as needed.
Key Responsibilities
• Donor Database Management: Recording donations, updating donor records, and generating acknowledgment letters in a CRM system.
• Fundraising Support: Assisting with campaigns / events, researching prospective funders, and logistics supporting fundraising efforts.
• Event Coordination: Planning and implementing fundraising events, including managing budgets, logistics, and volunteers.
• Communication: Acting as a point of contact for donors and managing materials for solicitation, as well as stewardship reports, calendaring of MEF events, and yearly action plans.
• Board Relations: Acting as a point of contact for Board communications, including monthly meetings, financial documentation and Board responsibilities / leadership role documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Experience: Requires 3-5 years in non-profit, administrative, or customer service roles.
• Technical Skills: Experience using donor and scholarship databases and Microsoft Office Suite. (MEF uses Donorview and Kaleidoscope. Experience in these specific systems is not required. However, experience working with this type of system is needed for consideration).
• Soft Skills: Strong organizational abilities, communication, multitasking, and attention to detail. Ability to manage stress and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
