Forgotten Treasures Animal Rescue We are a foster home based, 501(c)(3) animal rescue program in Shawnee, OK. Animals are accepted based on foster home space availability.

We are a foster based, animal rescue program dedicated to helping as many pets in need as we are able. We rescue animals from local kill shelters, owner surrenders, and even off the streets. If we have a foster available, we will help. All of our rescued pets will be spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated fully or to their age, dewormed, checked for heartworms, put on flea/tick/heartworm pre

ventative each month, and cats are tested for feline diseases. We will always do our best to treat the sick and injured. Our animals stay in foster care until adopted. 🥊 Canelo Cain update!

Dr. Snyder examined and xrayed Canelo today. Thankfully nothing seems to be broken. 🙌

He does have pulmonary contusions which means his lungs are bruised. He also has road rash and bruises all along his body in addition to the lacerations to his head.

Basically he is a lucky 🍀 boy!

Right now, he is eating, drinking, and going potty on his own!

So right now he is just working on healing. Once he’s healed, we will get him vaccinated and eventually neutered. He will then be available for adoption.

Canelo Cain …. Our little fighter!!! 🥊

Yesterday, a friend of our director was driving in South Texas on a work trip when he stumbled across the tiniest kitten sitting all alone on a highway in the Texas heat.

Chris, despite not being a big fan of cats, picked up this tiny guy and drove him the eight hours back to Oklahoma to bring to our rescue.

We are 99% sure the kitten was likely in the undercarriage of a vehicle and fell out while traveling down the stretch of highway.

Covered in fleas and lacerations on his head, this little guy is a fighter. He ate last night and got a bath to help rid of the fleas. He has bruising on various parts of his body, and we are unsure the extent of the damage at this time.

He is currently on his way to the vet to get examined, and we are hoping this little fighter will make it .

We are calling him, Canelo Cain. His last name is after our friend, Chris Cain who found him in South Texas near the Mexico border. Chris also suggested the name Canelo to represent the fighter that this little guy is. Canelo Alvarez is a boxer from Mexico who has red hair so we think it’s a very fitting name for our little fighter. 🥊🇲🇽

🚨🚨Cookie 🍪 needs a foster ASAP!!! 🚨🚨

Cookie is a 3 year old spayed female Dane mix. She is heartworm positive!! She was an owner surrender at the shelter and with her being HW positive that put her at the top of the euthanasia list!!

Cookie is a sweet dog, but at 85 #, she is a STRONG girl!!

We will be treating her for heartworms so she needs a home who can care for her while she is treated!!

Someone with Dane experience would be amazing!! But we just need someone who understands that she’s a big girl!

Cookie 🍪 has shown that she prefers women, but I think with time and dedication, she can adapt to men.

Currently Cookie 🍪 is boarding at our vet. This is NOT ideal for her mental health! And we currently pay $28 a day for her to board. We owe over $300 in boarding charges! We desperately need to get her in a home!!
