Forgotten Treasures Animal Rescue We are a foster home based, 501(c)(3) animal rescue program in Shawnee, OK. Animals are accepted based on foster home space availability.

We are a foster based, animal rescue program dedicated to helping as many pets in need as we are able. We rescue animals from local kill shelters, owner surrenders, and even off the streets. If we have a foster available, we will help. All of our rescued pets will be spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated fully or to their age, dewormed, checked for heartworms, put on flea/tick/heartworm pre

ventative each month, and cats are tested for feline diseases. We will always do our best to treat the sick and injured. Our animals stay in foster care until adopted. If you are interested in volunteering, please private message us with your expressed interest and phone number and one of our board members will contact you! Everyone can do something no matter how big or small. If you can't adopt, then foster. If you can't foster, then volunteer. If you can't volunteer, then donate. If you can't donate, then share posts. Sprout is a playful, sweet hound mix who’s learned a lot in just five months. He’s both house and crate trained, happy to curl up quietly or jump in for a game when the mood strikes. Sprout gets along with cats and dogs, so he fits nicely into multi-pet homes. He’s also up to date on vaccines and stays current with heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. He’s affectionate, often seeking out snuggles, and his social nature makes him an easy addition to just about any family. Already microchipped and neutered, Sprout is ready to settle in and charm his next pack. Fun fact: Born in January, Sprout is a Capricorn—steady, adaptable, and quick to learn!

🌼 Meet Daisy! 🌼

If you’re looking for a tiny dog with a big personality, Daisy is your girl!

Daisy is a 4–5-year-old Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix who is fully vetted, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current on prevention. She’s ready to find a forever family of her own!

This sweet little lady is the perfect mix of cuddle bug and terrier adventurer. She loves curling up next to her people, soaking up belly rubs, and being told what a good girl she is. She’s both kennel trained and house trained, making her an easy addition to the right home.

Daisy gets along well with other dogs, although she may occasionally voice her opinion with a little grumble. She also does great with kids and enjoys being part of the family. She also LOVES car rides!

Now, let’s talk about that terrier side! Daisy has a very strong prey drive and would not be a good fit for a home with small animals such as birds, mice, hamsters, or other pocket pets. In fact, she’d probably make an excellent mouser and might even have a blast participating in barn hunt activities. Her instincts are strong, and she loves putting her nose to work!

Daisy is looking for a home that will appreciate her affectionate nature, her spunky personality, and her terrier determination. In return, she’ll provide endless snuggles, loyal companionship, and plenty of smiles.

Remember Peanut? 🥜

✨ Meet Sahara ✨

We have decided to name her Sahara.

The name was inspired by the Arabic word “Sahar,” which means “just before dawn.” It felt like the perfect name for a dog who is standing at the beginning of a brand-new life. After everything she’s been through, this is her dawn — a fresh start filled with hope, love, and brighter days ahead.

So far, Sahara has been quiet and gentle, but we’re beginning to see her personality shine through. She now wags her tail when she sees us come home, loves curling up on the couch for a nap, and can often be found digging through the dog toy bin in search of the perfect treasure.

Every day, she grows a little more confident, a little more comfortable, and a little more herself. We are continually inspired by her resilience, her strength, and her incredibly kind soul.

Welcome to your new beginning, Sahara. ❤️
