❤️‍🩹 The herd says goodbye ❤️‍🩹
I am not going to make a long post as the video says it all. I felt deep in my heart this needed to be given for them. We cannot forget the grief they share with us.

Please comment on what you loved about Doolin I would love to hear how he touched your life, big or small 💞
❤️Our bestest boy❤️
Today, we would like to share a few memories and honor a horse who meant more to us than words could ever express—our sweet Doolin.
Over 15 years ago, we rescued Doolin from a situation where his future was uncertain and he was at risk of being sent to slaughter. Bringing him home was one of the greatest blessings we could have ever received. What we could never have known then was just how many lives he would touch, how many hearts he would heal, and how deeply he would be loved.
For over 15 years, Doolin was by our side, quietly doing what he did best—loving people. He wasn’t just a therapy horse. He was a friend, a teacher, a comfort, and a gentle soul who gave so much of himself to everyone he met.
He carried nervous children with patience. He gave confidence to those who didn’t believe in themselves. He offered peace to anxious hearts and comfort to those who needed it most. He never asked for recognition. He simply showed up day after day and gave his whole heart.
Doolin loved his people. He loved his herd. He loved his job. And oh, how he was loved in return.
The truth is, there are no words big enough for this loss.
So many hearts are broken. So many tears have been shed. The ranch feels quieter now. There is an emptiness that cannot be filled, and a longing to see his sweet face one more time, to feel his gentle presence, and to wrap our arms around his neck.
Some horses leave memories. Doolin leaves a legacy.
He leaves behind children who found courage because of him. Families who found joy because of him. Riders who felt safe because of him. Friends who loved him deeply. And countless memories that we will treasure for the rest of our lives.
My heart is broken, and I know I am not alone. A huge piece of me went with him, and I will miss him for the rest of my days. But I would not trade a single moment we shared. Loving him was one of the greatest blessings of my life.
As you look through these photos, we hope you’ll take a moment to remember Doolin with us. Remember his kindness, his gentle eyes, his patient spirit, and the love he gave so freely.
Sweet Doolin, thank you for everything.
Thank you for the lives you changed.Thank you for the confidence you gave.Thank you for the comfort you brought.Thank you for the love you shared.
You were deeply loved, cherished beyond measure, and you will be missed every single day.
You may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts. Your hoofprints are forever etched into the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing you.
The world was a better place because you were in it, and the countless broken hearts you leave behind are proof of just how deeply you were loved.
Until we meet again, my sweet, sweet boy.
Run free.
❤️ Doolin ❤️

I am so very sorry to share we had to let Doolin go at 1:07pm. I will be doing a memorial post for him but I am just not up to it now. He passed peacefully and gracefully, he knew we were there, happily had many many treats, his mind was still bright but his body could no longer function. I was able to hold his sweet face for the last time today as he passed over. We are shattered and not sure how much more loss our hearts can take. I am also grieving all of you who loved him so much. I’m sorry for your broken hearts as well. 💔
PLEASE if you own or know someone who owns horses look into symptoms of botulism it is quick and deadly and the outcome is not certain although we have a vet bill of $4800 and they did everything they could, Dr Gonzalez and his team were the best I could have asked for for Doolins care.
I do not know what we will do without him. The herd has been very different since they witnessed him down and then being gone. They are the ones that alerted me to him being down in the pond, and the fear and concern on their faces was obvious.
We appreciate every prayer and the love you had for him. And thank you to all of you who donated to his care.

They say some horses are worth their weight in gold.

In Doolin’s case, he’s worth all the gold in the world.

To many, he may just look like a horse. But to the children and adults he carries, Doolin is so much more. His quiet understanding, steady presence, and endless patience have helped riders who may have felt limited in other parts of their lives feel unlimited, capable, and confident.

He has carried first-time riders through their fears, celebrated victories both big and small, and provided comfort without ever saying a word. He has changed lives simply by being who he is.

Right now, Doolin is facing one of the biggest challenges of his life, and we are asking for continued prayers as he fights to recover. We know how much he means to our ranch family, but we also know how many lives he has touched beyond our gates.

If you feel led to help, donations can be made in several ways:

Updates being added at the bottom of post.

Please Keep Doolin in Your Prayers ❤️

Today we experienced a heartbreaking and terrifying emergency involving one of the most special horses at Singing Grace Ranch, Doolin.

Doolin was found down in the pond and struggling to keep his head above water. After an intense rescue effort, he was finally pulled out and is being transported now for emergency veterinary care at Oakridge Equine Hospital.

The veterinary team believes he may have aspirated water and is dealing with significant muscle stress and other complications from the ordeal. While we are hopeful, the next several hours will be critical.

For those who know Doolin, you know he is so much more than just a horse. He is an integral part of our ranch family and has touched countless lives through the years. Doolin has been a trusted partner to many of our special needs riders, offering patience, confidence, comfort, and connection when they needed it most. He has helped riders overcome fears, celebrate milestones, and experience the incredible healing power of horses.

The impact Doolin has made on our ranch and in the lives of the people he serves is impossible to measure. He is deeply loved by our riders, volunteers, visitors, and everyone who has had the privilege of knowing him.

We are asking for your prayers, positive thoughts, and healing energy as he fights through this.

If you feel led to help with Doolin’s medical expenses, donations can be made directly to Oakridge Equine Hospital on his behalf. Every contribution, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated and will go directly toward his care.

Please also pray for Terry, as she bravely held his head above water for over an hour and a half while waiting for help. Her love for her animals goes above and beyond.

Thank you for standing with Doolin and our ranch family during this difficult time. We will continue to share updates as we learn more.

Update 6/9 11PM:

Already has pneumonia started, and is impacted- so start of colic also, his lactic acid is off charts and every muscle is spasming , Also treating for botchalism which could very well could be from the hay in the burn pile. Estimate is $4000 which we will somehow have to figure out.
My heart is breaking he has everything going against him and my others are at risk too. PLEASE IF YOU CAN HELP call Oakridge and donate to his care, this will more than wipe out our entire SGR account. They open at 8am 405-359-5002 under Singing Grace Ranch and for Doolin. I will update as soon as I talk to the Dr tomorrow

Update 6/10 11AM:

He’s made it through the night, the vet said he’s more bright, but still super unsteady in his back end. They started the plasma treatment for botulism. Thank you all for your continued prayers ❤️

Update 6/10 6PM:

He has had some improvements, along with a few setbacks. The good news is that he can now eat and swallow on his own. ❤️

One concern today was that Doolin was unable to urinate, so the veterinary team placed a catheter to help him. Dr. Gonzales said Doolin became distressed when he couldn’t urinate, but he is much more comfortable now.

Another encouraging moment came when Doolin laid down. The doctor was concerned that if he went down, he might not be able to get back up. They monitored him closely and allowed him to rest for about two hours and Doolin got himself back up! That was a huge win.

The biggest challenge remains the same: he is still very unsteady in his hind end, and unfortunately there has not yet been improvement in that area. Dr. Gonzales feels that right now, time is what Doolin needs most.

Please continue to keep Doolin in your prayers. He’s trying so hard. Every prayer, positive thought, and word of encouragement means the world to us ❤️

Update 6/11 7AM:

Just got off the phone with Dr. G, and Doolin is maintaining eating and swallowing, they did bloodwork and his elevated kidney levels have gone down, but his muscle enzymes are still through the roof, no improvement in hind end, urine has been a dark reddish color but is slowly becoming a normal color, keeping him on fluids because of the muscle enzymes and trying to take the catheter out this afternoon to see if he can go on his own.

Update 6/11 5PM:

A little less unstable in his hind end! He appears to be peeing on his own but the doc hasn’t caught him in the act yet but he is very encouraged by his improvement! They will check enzymes tomorrow. Thank you all for your continued prayers!

UPDATE 6/12 am
Doolin has been down since 3am, they have tried everything to get him up and he just can’t. We are heading to see him and pray over him and encourage our sweet sweet boy to please get up. If he cannot we will have to make the devastating decision. I feel like this is just one big terrible nightmare I need to wake up from.

Rudy!!! ❤️
At almost 3 years old, Rudy just completed his second session with us—and what a difference a little time, patience, and support can make. During his first ride he cried a lot during his first session, and that was perfectly okay. We always meet children where they are and help them feel safe at their own pace.

At his second session, Rudy relaxed, enjoyed calmed , and began trusting the process. Watching his confidence grow fills our hearts with joy!

Thank you to Rudy’s mom for trusting us with your precious boy. We’re honored to be part of his journey and can’t wait to see all the amazing things ahead for you, Rudy. ❤️️
