We also take in owner surrenders, pull from high kill shelters and save from puppy mills. Rocky and Rustys Redemption Rescue was all started because two innocent dogs "Rocky and Rusty" were poisoned. After the devastating loss of Rocky, their family decided they wanted to save as many helpless dogs, in horrible situations as they could. The mission and vision for Rocky and Rustys Redemption Rescue

is to save dogs of all sizes and all breeds by getting them healthy and placing them into loving, forever homes, one wag at a time. We are an all-volunteer, foster home based, certified 501(c)(3), state licensed dog rescue organization based in Wisconsin. Instead, we operate through our loving foster homes, online databases, and adoption events. The majority of our animals come from owner surrenders, puppy mills, and shelters, where overcrowding of millions of healthy, friendly pets every year are euthanized. We are committed to providing the dogs that come into our Rescue with the best care while they wait for their forever homes by acclimating them to life outside of cages and providing the appropriate veterinary care and training needed for each individual dog. We believe we can make a difference... by saving them.. one wag at a time.

🦌 Baby deer update 🦌

The Humane Officer has received around 20 calls about this baby deer today… and yes, we also got a call from the DNR.

We want to clear a few things up because there seems to be a lot of confusion.

We work closely with the Humane Officer and the Sheriff’s Department. Last night, the Sheriff’s Department requested our help because resources were not reachable that late at night, even thow they tried. So yes — we got out of bed and went and picked up the baby deer because he needed a safe place to land temporarily, as his momma was killed when hit by a vehicle. We would normally not take in any wildlife and would tell people to contact the dnr or a wildlife rescue.

Immediately this morning, we began contacting wildlife rescues and also spoke with the wildlife biologist for our county through the DNR. We were informed there are only FOUR places in the entire state of Wisconsin able to take in baby deer. We have contacted those places. We received a lot of “no’s” today and currently have one possible placement.

So please don’t worry — this baby deer is safe, warm, being cared for appropriately, and our goal is to transfer him to a licensed wildlife rescue as soon as possible.

The only other option would be to let him go in the woods and let nature take its course… and that really isnt something anyone involved wants to do.

Thank you to everyone who has been concerned about the little guy ❤️ If you are ever questioning what’s going on, please just ask us directly. We are doing exactly what the wildlife rescue advised us to do.

Trust me when I say the Humane Officer and other agencies have far more important emergencies to focus on than receiving multiple calls about what the county’s rescue is doing ❤️
