The Cycle Nobody Talks About

As we close out Recovery Month and enter Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we’re starting an important conversation about the intersection of substance use and domestic violence.

These issues often overlap, but they are too often addressed separately. Survivors, people in recovery, and families deserve support that recognizes the whole picture.

The Coles County ROSC Council and HOPE of East Central Illinois created this campaign to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage our community to connect the dots between these two issues.

As Recovery Month comes to a close, I want to take a moment to thank everyone who helped make this month so wonderful! To everyone who is in recovery, supports recovery, and helps make our recovery community what it is—you are truly amazing, and we appreciate you!

Hike to Recovery was a success! 😎

Did you know? Physical exercise acts as a powerful, evidence-based complementary treatment in addiction recovery. It repairs dysregulated brain chemistry by releasing dopamine and endorphins, reduces psychological cravings, eases withdrawal symptoms, and builds healthy daily routines that prevent relapse.

Take some time to get outside and get that heart rate up!

🍂 Hope & Harvest Fest is coming to The Salvation Army Mattoon! 🍂

Join us on Saturday, September 26th from 10 AM - 2 PM for a day of community resources, kids' activities, giveaways, fall crafts, and thrift store specials!

We're still looking for community partners and organizations to host a free resource table. This is a great opportunity to connect with local families, share services, and make a positive impact in our community.
