🇲🇽 Three years after completing our work in Barrio Nuevo Toltepec, Mexico, we returned to see how the students are doing.

Following the earthquakes in southern Mexico and Hurricane Agatha, our team worked alongside the community to rebuild an entire educational campus serving Kindergarten José Martí, Primary School Rufino Tamayo, and Secondary School Benito Juárez.

From laying the foundations to completing classrooms, bathrooms, and shared spaces, every step was part of a collective effort to create a safe place for students to learn and grow. Coming back and seeing children in their classrooms, playing with friends, and smiling every day is a powerful reminder of why this work matters.

🇵🇸 In Gaza, where access to food and medicine is a daily struggle, the difference between one kitchen staying open and closing can mean hundreds of families going hungry. It is a place where every pallet of supplies, every nutritional supplement, and every piece of medical equipment carries life-or-death weight.

🎥 Recovery is underway in western Jamaica following the devastating impacts of Category 5 Hurricane Melissa.

Residents whose homes were damaged by the storm are receiving vouchers that can be exchanged for building materials like lumber and windows at local hardware stores. Alongside this support, families are participating in Build Back Safer trainings to learn how to make their homes more resilient to future storms.

By combining financial assistance with practical knowledge, nearly 900 homes will be rebuilt stronger and safer. 🇯🇲🏠

Our California team joined the 5th Annual Paradise Grazing Festival as a nonprofit partner, reconnecting with the community and collaborating with local VOAD and preparedness organizations supporting mitigation efforts across Butte County.

Eight years after the Camp Fire, the landscape still reflects the devastation, a reminder that recovery takes time and many families are still rebuilding their lives. Throughout the event, community members shared powerful stories about the importance of preparedness. One resident, Ms. Lindsey, who has evacuated multiple times and lost two homes, offered simple but important advice: “Get your go bag ready. You don’t have time to think when you’re escaping a fire.”

The day highlighted how local knowledge, community connections, and land-based solutions can strengthen wildfire prevention and long-term resilience. It also reinforced that preparedness is about more than protecting homes, it’s about preserving the memories, stories, and connections that make a place feel like home.

🇵🇭 Photos from our groundbreaking ceremony of Iyao Elementary School in the Philippines, marking an important milestone in our partnership with Streetlight and the community of Barangay Iyao!

More than the start of construction, this moment represents a shared commitment to creating safer, stronger learning environments where children can thrive. Throughout the ceremony, community leaders and partners spoke about the power of collaboration and the responsibility we all share in investing in the next generation.

Maria, a 5th-grade teacher at Escuela Primaria Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla in Mexico, shared how the ecofilter AH&H provided for their school changed everything for her class. Now her students no longer need to rely on the water jugs they used to buy every week. Accessible water means a better quality of life for everyone. 💧

🏠 Progress update from Tommy Fitch’s home in Florida!

His house took on four feet of contaminated floodwater, which rose above the kitchen counters and remained for nine weeks. During the disaster, residents were rescued by boat, and more than a year later, many people, including Tommy, were still waiting to return home.

Tommy’s home is getting closer to being move-in ready. Our team is supporting his recovery by installing a new air conditioning system, renovating his bathrooms, adding exterior wall insulation, and completing flooring, interior and exterior doors, and baseboards throughout the home.

We’re proud to see the incredible progress that’s been made. More than a year after the flooding, Tommy is finally getting closer to returning to the place he calls home.
