Last Student Maker Club was a lot of fun! With the fast approaching Halloween Party on October 28th, 2026 from 3-5pm, we continued to make decorations using the machines in the Workspace. Stained glass cut outs on the Wazer Water jet were foiled and soldered by students and here are the results...
P. S. Next Wednesday at 3pm, we will be carving pumpkins!

Expanded Hours!

Hey everyone, starting next week (October 12th), the Workspace's hours will be expanding! This will only be in effect when school is in session.

Monday: 1-6pm
Tuesday: 1-8pm
Wednesday: 1-8pm
Thursday: 1-8pm
Friday: 1-6pm

The Innovation Workspace hosted a Workspace Game Night last Thursday evening. It went very well and we have decided to host another. October 15th, 2026 from 6-8pm. The game will be Mario Cart. Come join us for some fun!

Week #5 Student Maker Club - Continue to learn about Inkscape and how to make shapes that can be cut out. I'll admit that it may feel a bit more like a class during these next few sessions as we get our feet wet with the software, but once we have the basics down, we should be able to work together to make some pretty cool projects.

Week #4 Student Maker Club - Name Plates engraved on the Epilog Laser
This week we took some time to learn the very basics of the Epilog Laser/ Engraver and Cutter. We got a tutorial on Safety and then used Inkscape to choose a font and then sent to the Laser where it was then engraved onto a precut piece of wood. It is exciting to see so many individuals who want to learn to use all the great equipment we have here in the Innovation Workspace!

Week #3 Student Maker Club - Making and Racing Bristle Bots
This week we took the head of a toothbrush, added a battery holder and battery with an on and off switch, some googly eyes and whatever else was needed to give our robot a personality- then we raced them down the Bristle Bot Raceway! Noah took 1st place, received bragging rights (and a prize!), and fun was had by all!

Week #2 Student Maker Club - Paper Circuit/Cards
This week we challenged ourselves to make a paper circuit with construction paper, an LED light, a battery, copper foil, and some tape. Once we got the circuit to work, we then made cards out of them. It was fun getting them to light up!
