The NIACC CEO Club was honored to attend the 41st Annual Global CEO Conference, held October 31–November 2 in Tampa, Florida! This incredible event brought together entrepreneurial minds from across the globe for three unforgettable days of inspiration, education, and connection.

Five of our members were able to attend this amazing event, those including: Catherine Dow, NIACC CEO President, Casey Zuehl, NIACC CEO Vice President, Caleb Renner, NIACC CEO Treasurer, Fabian Rivera, NIACC CEO Senior member, and Karleen Robert’s, NIACC CEO member.

While in Tampa, we made the most of our time by exploring downtown, riding the trolley, renting scooters, enjoying the pool, and eating out at some of Tampa’s most popular restaurants. From savoring cold ice cream to browsing local gift shops and taking in the vibrant atmosphere, every moment was filled with excitement. We also had a blast attending a CEO-hosted Halloween party, where we connected with peers in a fun and festive setting.

The conference itself featured amazing keynote and breakout speakers who inspired us with their insights and entrepreneurial journeys. We had the privilege of watching the semi-finals and finals of the pitch competition, and we want to extend a huge congratulations to the semi-finalists, finalists, and winners for their outstanding ideas and presentations.

A heartfelt thank you to the Global CEO Club team for making this event possible, especially in the aftermath of the recent hurricanes. Your hard work and dedication created an experience like no other. We’re also deeply grateful to our advisor, Ashley Page, for bringing us on this incredible journey and to our sponsors for making this trip a reality.

This conference has given us wonderful memories, invaluable experiences, and connections that will continue to inspire us as we grow as leaders and entrepreneurs. We are so thankful for the opportunity to attend and can’t wait to share what we’ve learned with our NIACC community!

Join us for an exciting opportunity at the 2024 Rural Economic Development Summit on Thursday, September 12th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the NIACC Auditorium! This year’s summit features keynote speaker Steve Bench, who will share insights on rural talent acquisition and retention.

✨ The Pappajohn Center is hosting a NIACC Student Design Challenge led by Steve Bench and facilitated by Megan Brandt, Program Director at Sukup Innovations. You’ll have the chance to develop creative solutions for recruiting and retaining college-age students in rural North Iowa. The winning team will present their idea to kick off a panel discussion and will receive a gift card or a ticket to the Pappajohn Gala!

Our CEO Club made their own shirts this year! We ordered plain white tees, and DTF transfer sheets of the internet, and then used the handy dandy heat press at the NIACC Innovation Workspace to put it all together! Thank you Anthony, Ian and Gabby for helping us get set up, and our CEO members who helped put these shirts together. They turned out great!

🎉 The CEO club is overjoyed to announce Catherine Dow as a winner in the 2024 John Pappajohn Student Entrepreneurial Venture Competition! 🌟 Catherine's exceptional pitch for her business, Instatat, not only impressed but also secured her one of the top three spots and a $5,000 prize! 🚀 As a freshman at NIACC and Secretary of the NIACC CEO Club, Catherine's entrepreneurial spirit and dedication continue to inspire us all! Catherine is currently enrolled in the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management and Finance Majors, with plans to start the NIACC automotive program this following semester. Congratulations, Catherine! 🎉
In addition, we're also thrilled to congratulate NIACC students Caleb Renner with Renner Ag Solutions and Elic Fjetland with KulBox! 🌟 Their innovative ventures propelled them to become regional finalists, each earning a well-deserved $500 prize! 💼 These remarkable individuals exemplify the passion and ingenuity of our collegiate entrepreneurs' community!
The 2024 John Pappajohn Student Entrepreneurial Venture Competition stands as a testament to the remarkable talent and creativity within our collegiate entrepreneurial ecosystem. There were 17 students belonging to 15 startup ventures competing in the finals. Judged by the directors of the 5 Pappajohn centers. This collaborative effort among esteemed institutions, including NIACC, Iowa State University, University of Northern Iowa, University of Iowa, and Drake University showcases the relentless pursuit of innovation and excellence among students!
