The Expressive Arts Therapy Program of Contra Costa Health Services is recruiting students graduating from Master’s in Counseling Psychology programs to provide expressive arts therapy services on inpatient and outpatient units at at our main campus at the Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center in Martinez and other community clinics throughout Contra Costa county. It is required that applica

nts be graduates from master’s programs that focus on Expressive Arts Therapy or other arts modalities (Drama Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy, Visual Arts Therapy, Music Therapy, etc.). Currently, interns work with individuals and groups at medical patients’ bedsides and in other treatment areas (e.g., psych ward, psychiatric emergency, in-patient psychiatry, obesity-prevention programs, pain and wellness groups, and other wellness programs); and with family/visitors in public areas. Expressive Arts Therapy Interns work under the Art of Health & Healing (AHH) Program and are enrolled through the Rehab Dept. Weekly group and individual supervision is offered by qualified MFT supervisors with specializations in Expressive Arts Therapy. About AHH:

The Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) is a full service county hospital located in Martinez and offers a complete array of patient-centered health care services. We also provide services in other medical centers and hospitals throughout Contra Costa County: Richmond, San Pablo, Concord, and Pittsburg. CCHS cares for and improves the health of all people in Contra Costa County with special attention to those who are most vulnerable to health problems. AHH’s mission is to improve our health outcomes and the experience and satisfaction of patients, families, and staff through the creation of programs, experiences, and a healing environment that uses all forms of artistic expression in our community.
