"They don't like me."
"I look awful."
"Why can't I ever get my act together like all of the other women
I know?"
"Why am I so fat? Ugh!"
Maybe you've been known to speak a few of these lines to your-self. When you're insecure, doubts can easily plague you-especially if the people in your circle are going out of their way to make you feel "less than."
But God made you to be more than your insecurities and doubts.
You are truly of more value than many sparrows, just as God's Word says. He created you in His image, His precious child, beautiful in His sight.
Oh, I know. You read those words and cringe. How could any-one-even God-call you beautiful? And yet He does. He sees no flaws when He looks at you. He sees a delightful, charming girl, bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh. And He wants nothing more than to convince you that you're worthy of His amazing love.

Lord, Your love for me is beyond all I could imagine. Thank You for finding value in me. I feel so loved by You, Jesus. Amen.

*God made you for more

Jesus' Sermon on the Plain contained teachings on how Christians should live. For example, in Luke 6:37-38, Jesus gave four specific commands: "Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you." All of these address how Christians should treat others and how they are to honor God with their time, talents, and treasures.
Jesus said the same measure in which we follow these commands will be used to measure against us.
When you judge others, you show pride, coming to harsh conclusions about people, perhaps based on very little truth. When you condemn others, you take that harshness further, perhaps going public with your criti-cism. When you hold a grudge, you close the door to God's forgiveness of yourself. When you selfishly hold on to your time, talents, and resources rather than supporting the work of the Lord, you fail to be a good steward of God's blessings. Thus, shine God's light by not judging and condemning others. Shine His light by forgiving others and giving of your time, talents, and resources.

Feeling that their prestigious positions and power were being threatened, the scribes and Pharisees continually questioned the words and actions of Jesus. They questioned, for instance, why He ate with tax collectors and sinners after Jesus had dined with Levi, a tax collec-tor. The scribes and Pharisees never would have openly socialized with the lowest in society. Jesus responded with a straightforward comment: it's the people who are sick who need to be made well (v. 31).
Jesus applied that medical principle to the spiritual health of men and women. People who were aware of their sinfulness were the ones who would hear Jesus' message of repentance, forgiveness, and freedom from sin. On the other hand, the law-keeping and judgmental scribes and Pharisees, who were just as spiritually sick and sinful, did not—or would not-recognize it.
May you not be judgmental like the scribes and Pharisees when you see people whose walk with Jesus and whose worship of Him are different from yours. And may you strive not to be blind to the lowest in society who need to know the healing message of repentance and forgiveness.

Jesus understands how we feel. You feel so much pressure from work, Jesus knows how you feel. You have more things on your to-do list than humanly possible, so did he. People take more from you than they give, Jesus understands. Your children are pushing your last button, Jesus feels this too. When you struggle, he listens. When you yearn, he responds. When you question, he hears. He is with you, he has been there, he understands. When you turn to him for help, he runs to you.
