Marshfield Area Community Foundation A worthy Cause, A caring Community, A positive Future

12/09/2025

The Marshfield Area Community Foundation (MACF) is providing a matching grant for Spirit 522 in the amount of $5,000. We are seeking community support to provide the $5,000 so this grant can be fulfilled.

Spirit 522 INC is a non for profit that is seeking grant money for the completion of their thrift store location on West Jackson Street in Marshfield, Missouri. This grant is needed to cover the expenses of flooring in the main thrift area. This will enable them to complete the renovation and open their doors to the public.

The premises of Spirit 522 originates Biblically from the scripture in Galatians 5:22, which describes the “fruit of the Spirit” as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness. Spirit 522’s goal for the community is, “See a need, Fill a need” in hopes to assist people while they endure a period of trials and difficulties. This mission has already started, as they have provided food assistance via community blessing boxes, immediate distribution of diapers, formula donations to The Forgotten Initiative, donated approximately 60 requested new twin-size comforters to fill a request from CarePortal, food donations to the Marshfield Schools Back Pack Program, and elder emergency food supplies and toothpaste to individuals in need at the Marshfield Senior Center. Additionally, Spirit 522 has filled emergency food requests and gas cards to meet the needs of local families. Spirit 522 has also done on the job training for a local high school student.

Spirit 522’s future goals are to have life skill educational courses within classrooms located at the thrift store. They are excited about a request from Division of Family Support Services to have pre-filled back packs which are provided to children at the time of emergency relocation. They are also working with Convoy of Hope to continue to stock blessing boxes. Victory Mission is assisting Spirit 522 with developing work programs and emergency shelters for Marshfield and Webster County.

Thank you for your consideration and possible assistance to help fund Spirit 522’s programs.

Please make checks payable to Marshfield Area Community Foundation and mail them to Community Foundation of the Ozarks at 300 South Jefferson Ave #400 Springfield MO 65806.
