Friends of the Marshfield, MA Animal Shelter, Inc. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity whose mission is to support the health and welfare of Marshfield's animals and assist the town Animal Shelter.

The Friends of the Marshfield, MA Animal Shelter, Inc. ("the Friends") is a non-profit established in August 2015 whose mission is to promote awareness and participation in the activities of the town owned Marshfield Animal Shelter ("the Shelter") and to create and deliver programs furthering the well being and safety of animals in the community of Marshfield, MA. Specifically, we seek to support

the Shelter, a no-kill facility, in its efforts to provide food, veterinary care, training and suitable homes for Shelter residents. The Friends also seek to promote awareness of pet overpopulation, its consequences and the positive impact of spay/neuter services. Animals in the Marshfield community who are at risk of being, neglected, abused, surrendered, or abandoned, may also benefit from other programs. Meet Salem!

Salem is a 4-year-old boy who didn’t have the easiest start to life—he was found as a stray and had to learn what love and safety feel like. Now, he’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and ready to find a forever home of his own.

Salem is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but don’t let that scare you! Cats with FIV can live long, happy, healthy lives with proper care. FIV is mainly spread through deep bite wounds, so keeping Salem indoors and in a calm environment is key. Regular vet check-ups, good nutrition, and a low-stress home will help him thrive just like any other cat!

He is shy but very friendly once he feels safe. Salem would do best in a quiet home and would likely thrive as the only cat where he can build confidence and bond closely with his person.

After everything he’s been through, Salem deserves a peaceful home and someone who will give him the patience and love he’s been waiting for!

Meet Knowy!

This handsome 4-year-old neutered boy is as sweet as they come. Knowy is up to date on all his vaccinations and ready to find a loving forever home where he can relax and be spoiled like he deserves.

Knowy was sadly surrendered due to financial issues, through no fault of his own, and is now hoping for a fresh start with a family who will love him forever.

He is currently on a prescription urinary care diet, which he will need to stay on to keep him happy and healthy. With the right care, he’ll continue to thrive and be an amazing companion.

Knowy has previously lived with other cats, so with proper introductions, he should do well in a multi-pet home.

If you’re looking for a gentle, loving cat to add to your family, Knowy could be your perfect match!

She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and FIV/FELV negative—ready to settle right in.

Boo is incredibly friendly and loves people, but she would do best as the only pet in the home where she can soak up all the attention she deserves. She has experienced some stress in the past, which led to fur pulling on her legs, so a quiet, low-key environment will help her truly thrive.

Zeke is a 10-month-old sweetheart looking for his forever home! This handsome boy is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and FIV/FeLV negative—ready to move right in and steal your heart.

Zeke has the BEST personality—he’s playful, affectionate, and loves being the center of attention. He’ll even play dress-up and proudly rock his signature gold chain like the king he is!

Zeke would do best as the only cat in the home, as he prefers to be the ruler of his castle. However, he may do okay with a calm, respectful dog.
