🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 🎀
Liz. Jeanne. Carol. Jilly. Miranda. Donna. Marie. These are just a few of the names of the beautiful ladies who stayed with us at Beacon House during the course of their cancer treatments and found such comfort being with others who were also navigating the course. They found so many types of support and camaraderie, and each expressed how helpful it was to not face it alone.
A unique and special layer of support we love to offer includes our Beacon House Wig Salon. It was created for patients undergoing chemotherapy who are experiencing the trauma of hair loss. In our safe, welcoming space, Beth, our licensed stylist, spends special one-on-one time with each guest to help them find a wig that makes them feel comfortable, confident, and more like themselves throughout their treatment.
From finding the right fit, cut, color, and style, Beth makes each wig selection a personal experience. Thanks to Steve Mariucci’s dear friend Brett Favre, the cost of each wig is covered in honor of his wife, Deanna, who bravely faced and overcame cancer.
As we recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are reminded of the incredible courage and resilience of the women facing cancer each day. Being able to provide a little comfort, confidence, and hope during such a difficult time is an honor we are grateful to share. 💗
