The kids need you a little less from you now. Something else is starting to ask for your attention.

For a lot of women this is a real threshold. The body is changing. The years of raising young children are loosening their grip. And underneath it is a quieter pull, to reclaim your own identity, to step into your own authority again.

Our 1-on-1 sessions are a steady place to meet that. Not to manage it or push through it, but to be with it and to help you navigate towards stability again.

The anxiety is here. And the awareness of the anxiety is also here. Those are two different things.

When a feeling takes over, it can seem like the whole of what is happening. There is no room around it. But the feeling is one thing, and the awareness in which it is arising is another. The awareness is not anxious. It is the space the anxiety is happening in.

This week on the blog: the one distinction that makes everything else in this series legible. The third piece on the inner life.

The hall is quiet again.

Thank you to everyone who came last night and did the quiet work. Something shifts when a roomful of people agree, for two hours, to stop performing and simply pay attention together. It does not announce itself. You tend to notice it later, like in the way your Sunday starts to feel a little more open. Enjoy yourself today! Your unique expression is worthy of appreciation.

You can see them becoming an adult. You can also see that some of the help is not going to come from you. Life is demanding that they encounter challenges without you and build their own path forward.

There is a stretch of time when the steadiest thing for a young person is a trusted adult outside the family. Someone between a mentor and a friend who will actually listen, share some lived perspective, and also hold them to what they said matters.

That's one way people are using our 1-on-1 sessions. Help your young adult find a person they can talk to about the things that count. Someone that can help them establish a stable foundation for their life right when it matters most.

Summer is for turning outward. It's the season when we are naturally drawn to let ourselves out into the world, for expressing the fullness of who we are.
There is no better time to make way for that expansion. To clear out any remaining dormancy and to feel whole, open and alive.

Our Solstice Sound Meditation is this Saturday! June 13, 5 - 7 PM. At the Historic Village Hall here in Marine on St. Croix.
Two hours to set down what you have been carrying and meet the season clearly.

A few spots left!

You are standing at the kitchen counter waiting for the kettle to boil. Your eyes dash around. The kettle, the dishes in the sink, yesterday's mail on the counter. The kettle has yet to whistle.

In this moment, where is your attention?

For many of us it is somewhere else entirely. On what happened earlier. On what is coming next. On the conversation you wish had gone differently last week.

A new piece on the blog explores what attention actually is, what it is not, and why the distinction matters. The second in our ongoing series on the inner life.

Summer Sound Meditation - Saturday June 13.
The evening before solstice week begins.

Two hours shaped around one practice: bringing your attention back, again and again, to what is actually here.

Not a performance. Not a treatment. Just your inner landscape, the room, and the company of others doing the same quiet work.

Historic Village Hall, Marine on St. Croix. 6–8 PM.

The window for joining us on the Patagonia 2027 trip is closing. Space is filling in.

If you have been quietly turning the possibility over in your mind, this is the week to give it a closer look. A small group. An unhurried pace. Territory that rewards slow attention. Late February into early March 2027.

The early-commit deadline is June 15. After that the trip cost increases.

Reach out if you would like to talk it through.

Most of us, somewhere along the way, were given an enormous vocabulary for the world out there. The names of objects, the words for weather and machines and history. We were not, for the most part, given a vocabulary for what is happening "in here."

And without words for it, we cannot quite see it. Without seeing it, we mostly cannot work with it.

A new arc starts today on the blog. Over the coming weeks we will work through the foundational vocabulary of inner experience.

The first in the series is up now!
