Another free health screening worth knowing about before June 11:

AdventHealth Redmond will be on-site offering free AngioScreen® exams. AngioScreen® checks for peripheral artery disease, a condition that restricts blood flow and is more common in Veterans than in the general population. It is a quick, non-invasive screening, and most people who have it do not know they need it.

Veterans of every era can benefit from this kind of cardiovascular screening. We are glad AdventHealth is making it available as part of this event.

A health screening that takes about ten minutes. No referral. No cost.

At the We CARE Vet Fair™: Northwest Georgia event, KaiCare AI is offering free iBreast exams on-site. The iBreast exam uses handheld, radiation-free imaging technology to screen for early signs of breast health concerns, and it is available to all attendees. All you need is an appointment.

This is not a diagnostic test, but it is the kind of early-access screening that can point someone in the right direction before a concern becomes a crisis.

Did you know enrolling in VA healthcare does not have to take weeks?

At the We CARE Vet Fair™, we are calling it the 1010 in 10. On-site VA representatives can walk you through the VA Form 10-10EZ, the application for VA healthcare enrollment, in about ten minutes. Both days, all day.

June 11 from 9 AM to 5 PM and June 12 from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Forum River Center in Rome, Georgia.

If you have ever thought about enrolling in VA healthcare but never got around to starting the paperwork, this is the easiest entry point you are going to find. Come ready and walk out enrolled.

The VA and the Georgia Department of Veterans Service will be on-site at the We CARE Vet Fair both days, June 11 and June 12. That means two full days of one-on-one help to start a claim, review an existing one, or just figure out where you stand with your benefits. All Veterans, all ages, all eras.

No appointment needed to attend. No runaround. Just real people who can actually help you move forward.

If you have a claim that has been sitting unfinished, or questions you have never quite known where to take, this is a good place to bring them.

Something big is coming to Northwest Georgia, and it's almost here!

On June 11 and 12, the We CARE Veterans Fair will be at the Forum River Center in Rome, Georgia. This is a free, two-day event for Veterans, Servicemembers, Military Families, Caregivers, and Survivors. Free admission, free parking.

We are talking about 100+ community partners, the VA, and the Georgia Department of Veterans Service, all in one place.

The details:
- VA Benefits claims assistance and VA Healthcare enrollment will be available to Veterans of all ages and eras on June 11 (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) and June 12 (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM). No appointment necessary - just come on in!
- Community partners providing housing support, employment, legal resources, and more will be available on Friday, June 12 ONLY. No appointments necessary for these services, either!

Memorial Day does not affect everyone the same way. For some, it is a celebration of the freedom to gather with friends and family, to laugh together over a cookout, and enjoy the blessings of freedom. For others, it is a day of quiet reflection.

What unites us is the understanding that today belongs to the fallen. Not as symbols or statistics, but as Americans. Fathers and daughters. Friends and neighbors. Heroes whose names still catch in our throats, whose laughter still echoes in our memories, and whose chairs remain empty at the table.

Today, we will laugh at their jokes, tell the stories of their lives, and remember the moments that made them who they were. Though they fell in service to our nation, they continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.

To those who carry the weight of Memorial Day every single day: you are not alone. We cannot take away your pain, but we can stand beside you, carry their memories with you, and honor the sacrifices they made.
