This month, members of the GFWC Marianna Woman's Club attended the Citizens Academy session, which provided an informative behind the scenes look at Jackson County’s Public Safety Departments, including the Jackson County Corrections, Emergency Management, and Fire Rescue divisions, and how these agencies work together to serve and protect our community.🚒🧯

We gained a greater understanding of the critical roles these departments play each day in safeguarding lives, responding to emergencies, and supporting residents throughout the county. It was extremely beneficial to receive hands on training for administering narcan.

Chief Jammie Jeter of the Jackson County Correctional Facility, Chief Charlie Brunner & Division Chief Johnny Padgett of the Jackson County Fire Rescue shared valuable insights into their areas of responsibility, highlighting the training, equipment, coordination, and community partnerships that contribute to public safety in Jackson County.

The session offered an excellent opportunity to learn more about the dedicated professionals whose commitment and service help keep our community safe every day.

GFWC Marianna Woman's Club Hosted a “Fired Up for Firefighters” District Workshop! 🔥🚒

It was truly a meeting of the minds and lived up to its name, bringing together great women, meaningful conversations, and inspiring ideas from clubs across our district.

Firefighters Christopher Bernier and Zahir Stevens of Marianna Fire Department made a special appearance, giving our attendees an up close look at the equipment they use in their daily work. They also took time to answer questions from the audience, providing valuable insight into the important role firefighters play in their communities.

The dedication and passion displayed by each club was inspiring and a wonderful reminder of the impact we can make when we work together.

Our designated charity for the workshop was Chrome Retreat /Stillwaters Retreat.

The Red Apple Award was won by: GFWC Wewahitchka Woman's Club!

GFWC Marianna Woman's Club is so pleased to have the opportunity to host GFWC Florida District 2 meeting on Saturday! “Sounder” our new pup will be there greeting everyone. Since he’s finished Dalmatian Firefighter Training, he has taken on two new recruits to follow in his pawprints. Those who have registered to attend will be able to meet Sounder and his two trainees!

While he won’t be living at the house full-time, stay tuned for details about the meet and greet with our newest furry friend if you have registered!!

GFWC Marianna Woman's Club is proud to support the Marianna Swim Team by making a donation.

The donation will help cover team expenses so the swimmers can have the best possible experience, while also helping make the program more sustainable.

Participation in youth sports is an investment in a child’s safety, health, character development, and social well being all while giving kids the opportunity to have fun, build friendships, and create lasting memories during summer break!!

What a blessing it was for our veterans to be able to participate in the “Flight of Honor.”

We are grateful for their service and sacrifice, and honored that they had the opportunity to experience such a meaningful and memorable journey. 🇺🇸

An all-female Flight of Honor brought 120 women veterans from across Florida to Washington, D.C. in March, marking the largest trip of its kind from the state. 🔗⬇️
