🚨 **URGENT NOTICE ALL HOLMES COUNTY ROADS CLOSED** 🚨

**HOLMES COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE**

Effective immediately, **ALL ROADS IN HOLMES COUNTY ARE CLOSED TO PUBLIC TRAFFIC UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.**

**ONLY FIRST RESPONDERS AND AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY PERSONNEL SHOULD BE ON THE ROADWAYS.**

Conditions are **NOT SAFE FOR TRAVEL.** Please do not attempt to drive, sightsee, check damage, or travel unless you are authorized emergency personnel.

**STAY HOME. STAY OFF THE ROADS.** Keeping the roads clear allows law enforcement, fire, EMS, utility crews, and other emergency personnel to respond safely and quickly where they are needed.

We understand people are concerned about family, property, and damage. **Please remain where you are until officials announce that travel is safe.**

📢 HOLMES COUNTY SHELTER OPENING NOTICE
Bonifay K-8 School, located at 140 Blue Devil Drive, Bonifay, FL 32425, will open Friday, 10/09/2026 at 8:00 AM for General Population and Special Needs sheltering.
If you plan to stay at the shelter, please come prepared with the supplies you and your family will need:
• Medications in their original containers**, a current medication list, and any necessary medical equipment and supplies.
• Nonperishable, ready-to-eat food, snacks, and drinking water, including items for special dietary needs. **Meals will NOT be provided.**
• Pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, or other bedding.
• Changes of clothing, comfortable shoes, and personal hygiene items.
• Identification, important documents, and emergency contact information.
• Cell phones, chargers, and portable battery packs.
• Baby supplies, including diapers, wipes, formula, and baby food.
• Books, quiet games, or small comfort items for children.
**Special Needs residents:**
Please bring your essential medical supplies and equipment. If you rely on a caregiver for daily assistance, plan for your caregiver to accompany you.
Shelters provide a shared space for safety, with limited privacy and comfort. Please be patient, respectful of others, and follow staff instructions.
Prepare now and allow yourself plenty of time to arrive safely before weather conditions deteriorate.

🎀 EARLY DETECTION MATTERS! 🎀

During this months Care Closet we will have a community event. This event will support Breast Cancer Awarenes.

One Step At A Time Inc. believes that caring for our community also means encouraging everyone to take care of their health. Regular breast cancer screenings can help detect breast cancer early, when treatment may be more effective.
We are excited to welcome the Jackson County Health Department to this month’s Community Care Closet! 💗

Representatives will be available with breast cancer educational information and resources to help our community learn more about the importance of screening and early detection.

*Please note: Our monthly drive-thru is for anyone who needs it. You don’t have to be a Jackson County resident to receive food, but you have to be physically present to pick up for your family. It starts at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 8:00 a.m. See you there!

GOD MADE A WAY! Thanks to Caverns Road Church , Jackson County food service, and Crossway Church!
Our food pantry was getting low. We were planning community outreaches with limited resources, and we were hearing from individuals and families who needed Bibles in their homes—but we didn’t have any Bibles available to give.
But God made a way—and He made a way quickly! ❤️❤️❤️
Our prayers have been answered! This week, we were blessed with more food for our pantry, snacks to support community outreaches, and a shipment of Bibles to share with those who have been waiting. We have a few extras too. 🔥🔥🔥
We are truly grateful for every church, organization, donor, and community partner who continues to pour into One Step At A Time Inc. Your support allows us to continue walking alongside families and meeting needs.
