The Flint Hills Wellness Coalition was formed in April of 2011. It was created to work cooperatively with citizens and groups throughout the City of Manhattan and Riley County to develop community norms that support healthy behaviors and environments. This group is one of twelve other communities in Kansas funded through the Kansas Health Foundation to initiate work in the area of access to health

y foods. The vision of the coalition is to create a healthier community for our residents through policy, system, environmental, and personal change.

Flint Hills Wellness Coalition is pleased to work with City of Manhattan, Kansas - Municipal Government by providing a $100,000 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Pathways to a Healthy Kansas coordination grant as match for this project.

Collaboration with public entities and nonprofit organizations ensures that health equity concerns are addressed in Manhattan/Riley County.
