What a fabulous day with The Roadrunner Family! Day began with a trip to Tanganyika Wildlife Park to start the Summer Games weekend! Feeding Birds, lemurs (they are so cool), tortoises, petting kangaroos, and learning about penguins, snakes, tortoises.
Then on to opening ceremonies.
Our "Littles" showcased the 4x50 shuttle relay. They are so darn cute!
Cody represented the Roadrunners in the Walk of Champions, and we cheered on the athletes running the 3000M.
Back to the hotel and ready for competition Saturday. Starts at 8 am at Maize South HS. Come out to watch some truly inspirational athletes. And please, send up a prayer to Mother Nature to stay dry.

The Roadrunners supported Pott Co officers handing off the Special Olympics Torch to Riley Co officers in Manhattan and then went the first leg.
We met up again in Ogden where we ran with Riley Co officers to hand the torch off to Ft. Riley at the gate. Mother Nature decided everyone needed cooled off.
Thank you Rachel P for all you and your LETR crew do for The Roadrunners and Special Olympics Kansas!
Thank you Harrison, Mara, Addy, Cody B, Kiera and Cody W for running also! (And parents for making it happen!)
