We are so excited to share the news that BAND member company, Dakota Carrier Network (DCN), has announced a major project that will help ensure North Dakota remains competitive in large-scale connectivity. This investment has been made possible through the support and capital investment of DCN’s owner companies, all of whom are also BAND members.

Our members have a long history of working together for the greater good of North Dakota, and projects like this are another example of that commitment. Investments in critical infrastructure not only strengthen our state’s position in the global data marketplace, but also create opportunities for continued economic growth across North Dakota.

We’re proud to be part of a major investment in the future of connectivity across the heartland.

DCN, alongside Range and WIN Technology, is launching the 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁—a new 2,000-mile long-haul fiber route spanning seven states from Denver to Chicago. This initiative is designed to expand network capacity, strengthen resiliency, and support the growing demands of AI, hyperscale computing, and next-generation digital infrastructure.

This is the kind of collaboration that creates lasting impact: combining regional strengths to deliver scalable, reliable infrastructure for businesses, institutions, and emerging technologies across the region.

Construction is expected to begin this summer, with deployment taking place over the next one to two years.

BAND members from Polar Communications, RTC Networks, BEK Communications, Red River Communications and SRT Communications met with our federal delegation and their staff about the importance of maintaining the Universal Service Fund. North Dakota has the best Internet connectivity in the nation, so let’s keep it that way! .

Congratulations to DCN! This regional network, owned by 13 BAND member companies, does great work!

DCN recently received an MVP-Regional award from Connectbase. Integrating this technology helps us to continue to deliver on the core value of reliability by further enhancing network operations and service deliverability.
