Today we commemorate freedom, resilience, and the enduring pursuit of justice. Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally learned they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
It’s a day to reflect on history, honor Black voices and contributions, and recommit to building a more just and equitable future for all.

Let’s celebrate freedom, uplift one another, and continue learning together. ✨

Did you know that 8 kids a day in the U.S. are unintentionally killed or injured by fi****ms in their home?

Maine is not immune. On May 17, 2025, a 4-year-old boy died after accessing an unsecured 9 mm handgun and accidentally shooting himself in the head.

Securely storing fi****ms is a lifesaving step, especially when children and teens are in the home.

Asking about how fi****ms are stored when your child plays in other homes also saves lives.

This June 21 is ASK Day.

Always ask: "Is there an unlocked gun where my child plays?"
