Supporting America's recalibrated veteran families at our world class retreat in Maine. The Travis Mills Foundation chose Maine for many reasons.

There is an abundance of lakes, wildlife, and fresh air which provide peace and tranquility for veteran families that attend the retreat. Making it a perfect environment for families to reconnect. The Mills family has close ties to the state of Maine -- Kelsey is a Maine native. With Maine placed as the third highest per capita veteran population in the United States, they knew Maine was the right fit for the retreat. Post 9/11 veterans who have been injured in active duty or as a result of their service to our nation receive an all-inclusive, all-expenses paid, barrier-free experience in Maine where they participate in adaptive activities, bond with other veteran families, and enjoy much-needed rest and relaxation in Maine’s outdoors.

Volunteers Needed!

Want to make a difference in the lives of veterans, first responders, and their families?

Volunteers are an important part of what makes the Travis Mills Foundation such a special place. From welcoming families to supporting programs and day-to-day operations, they help create an environment where families can relax, reconnect, and make lasting memories.

Right now, we're especially in need of volunteer drivers and kitchen help. Drivers help transport families to and from the airport, while kitchen volunteers help keep things running behind the scenes. We also have opportunities to get involved in other areas across the Foundation.

If you’ve been in our Kelly McGaughey Roseberry Health & Wellness Center recently, you may have noticed something new on the walls! Our collaborative mural has officially found its forever home, and it looks amazing.

Created with the help of Carole Storro of Sparkle Art Studio LLC - Maine, this special piece brings together the creativity and contributions of families and staff who participated in our HHERO Program throughout the summer of 2026. Our own team members, Mike and Jenna, played an important role in bringing the vision to life, carefully cutting and shaping the individual pieces to create the outline of Maine.

Each hand-painted piece represents the question, “What is home?” Together, they form a beautiful display of patriotic colors and meaningful connections.

“Many hearts and many homes making connections” captures what makes the Travis Mills Foundation so special. Families travel here from all over the country and build connections that reach far beyond their time at the Foundation.

A huge thank you to Carole, Mike, Jenna, and everyone who contributed their time and creativity to make this mural possible. We’re so happy to see it in its new home!

Our Open House was a wonderful day, and we’re so grateful to everyone who came out to spend it with us at the Travis Mills Foundation.

It means so much to be able to welcome our community onto the property, share what makes this place special, and see so many people come together to support our mission.

A heartfelt thank you to our staff and volunteers who worked hard to make the day possible. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Last week, we held our second-ever Health and Wellness Retreat here at the Travis Mills Foundation.

This retreat is all about giving back to our participants and creating space to focus on taking care of themselves, mind, body and soul.

Throughout the week, participants took part in yoga, wellness coaching, fitness sessions, adaptive fitness, an introduction to lymphatic health, healthy meal preparation and more.

They left with new wellness practices, new things to try, and maybe even a reminder of a few things they had forgotten along the way: that taking care of yourself matters, that movement can look different for everyone, and that making time for your own well-being is important.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this week possible and to the participants who showed up, tried something new and invested in themselves.
