TODAY’S THE DAY! 🚒

Looking for something fun to do with the family today? Head over to the Constable Volunteer Fire Department for their Touch-A-Truck event from 12:00 – 4:00 PM!

Bring the kids out to explore trucks, meet local heroes, enjoy face painting and sensory stations, enjoy the DJ on the dance floor and grab some food while you’re there. There’s something for everyone to enjoy!

And did we mention FREE admission?! 🙌

We love seeing our community come together, and today is a great opportunity to get out, have some fun, learn from our local heroes and support the incredible people who serve our community every day. ❤️

From the beginning, RiverTrail Beerworks brought their enthusiasm, generosity and commitment to helping make Meals with Meaning in Saranac Lake something truly special.

Their support continues well beyond the event itself. Their generosity will directly benefit the Saranac Lake Backpack Program, helping provide nutritious weekend meals for local children during the 2026 – 2027 school year.

❤️ Today, we’re taking a moment to celebrate Janet Monette.

There is a tremendous amount of work that happens behind the scenes to ensure children across our communities have access to nutritious meals throughout the summer.

As our Summer Food Service Program Manager, Janet brings 19 years of experience, knowledge and dedication to this important work. From navigating program requirements and coordinating meal preparation and deliveries to managing changing schedules and the day-to-day needs of 10 summer feeding sites, Janet keeps countless details moving in the right direction.

But beyond the logistics is what matters most: Janet genuinely cares about the children we serve and ensuring they have access to nutritious food throughout the summer.

Janet's leadership and commitment have been an important part of the continued growth and success of our Summer Food Service Program.

Thank you, Janet, for everything you do for our program and the children and families we serve. We're incredibly fortunate to have you on our team! ❤️

🚒 Mark your calendars, because this Sunday is going to be a BIG one! 🚒

The Constable Volunteer Fire Department is hosting their Touch-A-Truck event on Sunday, August 30, from 12:00 – 4:00 PM, and it’s the perfect opportunity for families to get out, explore, and meet some of the local heroes who help keep our community safe. ❤️

There will be trucks to explore, face painting, sensory stations, food, and plenty of fun for the whole family! And the best part? Admission is FREE!

We love seeing our community come together for events like this, and we’re excited to help spread the word. So bring the kids, bring your curiosity, and come spend the afternoon with some amazing local heroes! 👨‍🚒🚑🚓

This weekend was a beautiful reminder of just how much happens when people come together.

From the Malone Rec Park End of Summer Bash to the Fly-In Festival to ADK Riverside’s Free Kid Fun Day, communities across our area were filled with families, laughter, connection, and plenty of reasons to celebrate.

While each event was unique, they all shared something important: people who care enough to create opportunities for their neighbors to come together.

We’re incredibly grateful for the organizations, volunteers, businesses, community leaders, and neighbors who continue to make these moments possible.

💙 Some people help make an event happen. Others help shape what it becomes.

Our Saranac Lake Advisory Committee did just that.

From the very beginning, these members shared their knowledge, connections, ideas and time to help bring Meals with Meaning to Saranac Lake. They opened doors, offered thoughtful perspective and helped us create an event that truly reflected the community it was designed to support.

On Thursday, we had the opportunity to gather over lunch and simply say thank you. ❤️

Thank you for believing in this initiative, for helping us bring it to life and, most importantly, for caring so deeply about the children and families of Saranac Lake.

Nearly 1 in 5 children in Franklin County faces food insecurity.

At 19.3%, Franklin County's childhood food insecurity rate is second only to New York City in New York State.

Across Franklin and Essex counties, an estimated 2,800 children face hunger.

These numbers underscore the growing need right here in our communities and why ensuring children have access to nutritious food remains at the heart of our work.

At the Fieldstone Foundation, we're committed to doing our part. 💙

Sometimes the impact of the Backpack Program is best shared by those who see it firsthand.

As we prepare for another school year, messages like this are an important reminder of why the Backpack Program matters.

Each week, the program helps bridge the gap between Friday and Monday by providing nutritious weekend meals to children who may otherwise go without.

To everyone who helps make this possible, thank you. Your support reaches directly into our classrooms and helps ensure children have the food they need to learn, grow and thrive. 💙
