Meet four of the nine dogs we’ve brought home from working in Kuwait.

We’re so grateful these dogs are finally safe.

Maya has been seen by our vet for a lump, and we’re waiting on the results. Please keep her in your prayers.

We’ve brought 9 dogs home, with 5 more still waiting to come to safety.

These dogs have worked their entire lives, and now it’s our turn to show up for them.

Our volunteers risked their lives for nine working dogs. Five more are still stranded.

Mark and Terry traveled to Saudi Arabia with Mission K9 Rescue to bring home nine contract working dogs whose travel had been blocked by the conflict. They willingly entered a dangerous area because these dogs needed someone to come for them.

They could have been killed doing it.

The attacks on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport show the danger surrounding this rescue. On Wednesday, October 7, JUST ONE DAY AFTER TERRY LEFT, an attack killed one person at the airport.

On Thursday, October 8, further attacks targeted airport facilities and a Saudia aircraft, killing three Saudi citizens, including a pilot.

On Saturday, October 10, another strike hit a passenger terminal. Authorities initially reported 12 people killed and 309 injured.

Then, on Sunday, October 11, the airport was hit again, killing one person and injuring 11. The Houthis claimed responsibility for the weekend attacks.

Those killed and injured were people traveling, working, and waiting at an airport. We cannot read those reports without thinking about what could have happened to our two volunteers.

Mission K9 Rescue is the only organization that traveled into harm’s way to rescue this group of contract working dogs. Mark and Terry accepted the risks of going in person. We are grateful for their willingness to do that, and we do not take their safety lightly.

Five dogs are still stranded. We do not know when they will be able to travel.

That uncertainty means we must board them longer than anticipated. Every additional day brings another day of boarding, food, and care to pay for. We cannot give these dogs a departure date yet, but we still have to provide for them while they wait.

Not sure we’ll ever be able to express the sorrow we feel.

Almost 1.5 years of trying to get these dogs out of Kuwait. Ten died.

Eleven are safe, but their condition is one that brings tears to your eyes.

We still need to save four more.

Yes, this is us, once again, begging for help.

We need to raise $25,000 to help with the rehab and vet bills for these 14 Kuwait working dogs.

Nine more retired working dogs have arrived in the USA!

After a year and four months of delays and obstacles, nine more of our retired working dogs from Kuwait have arrived in the United States.

The dogs had been moved to Saudi Arabia, where they waited while we worked through the challenges of bringing them home. Our volunteers Mark and Terry traveled there to accompany them. Six arrived on Monday, and three more arrived on Wednesday.

We’re so happy they’re here. Now we need to get them the veterinary care they’ve been waiting for.

During those months overseas, they did not receive the care that aging working dogs need. All nine are underweight. Each needs a thorough examination and bloodwork to help us understand their health and identify problems we can’t see.

One dog has a concerning lump on a hind leg. Another has a puncture wound on his shoulder. An elderly German Shorthaired Pointer is in heat, and several dogs will need to be spayed or neutered once they are healthy enough for surgery.

We won’t know the full extent of their medical needs until they’ve been evaluated.

These dogs have spent their lives working and have waited far too long for retirement. We want to help them recover, feel comfortable, and find loving homes. But we need your help to pay for their care.

Bringing them home has already been expensive. We now face veterinary bills for examinations, bloodwork, medications, and necessary procedures, along with the cost of caring for them as they recover. We are also still working to bring the remaining five dogs to the USA.
