-October 25, 2026-

Jesus, the Son of God and the Son of Mary, tells the Pharisees and us in the words of His Prophet Moses to love the Lord our God, with all our hearts, with all our souls and with all our minds. It is one thing to say we love God, but how do we express to others that we have the love of the Lord in our hearts, in our souls and in our minds?

In the Gospel, Jesus, mighty God and prince of peace, joins together the love of God with the love of neighbor. Jesus tells us that this is everything that the Law and the Prophets depend. By following the Law or the Torah, the People of Israel became righteous in the sight of God.

With Faith in God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and our hope in the resurrection, we go forth on our own missions into the vineyard. Our small acts of love, our sacrifices, are the works rooted in the faith of our Catholic Church. Our Christian mission in our homes, in our neighborhoods and in our workplaces is living as Jesus has taught us to live. This will yield good fruit, the sweet grapes, that God wills for all his children.

The missions and ministries of the Catholic Church are so important. Making room for the Love of Jesus is making a difference. Men and Women are born with hearts that yearn for God, but many do not understand or believe in Jesus. Like the Thessalonians, following the example of St. Paul, the peoples evangelized learn to follow the example of Jesus to find fulfillment in their lives. People living in darkness come to a discovery of a divine truth. They come to a participation in God’s love, to find God’s presence in the world. They come to love God and their neighbor.

God is compassionate, God hears the cry of the poor. Jesus, our savior and redeemer, he hears us and answers our prayers.
