Attention all Skiers AND Snowboarders!

Adaptive Lessons are in full swing at Cataloochee Ski Area and we are looking for volunteers to join our team. If you enjoy helping others slide on the snow then come and check out our volunteer training this Saturday, January 7th. Training includes a free lift ticket.

Thank you to all the volunteers & instructors that attended our first ASAR training session of the season at Cataloochee Ski Area! It was an incredible weekend filled with talented skiers & snowboarders ready to teach and assist with adaptive lessons.

Requests for lessons are submitted by filling out a participant registration form found on our website under snow sports at https://catalystsports.org/locations/adaptive-skiing/

After you submit your form a Cataloochee Adaptive Ski & Ride staff member will contact you about the availability and specifics of the lesson. We recommend requesting an Adaptive lesson at least two weeks in advance. See you on the mountain!

Winter has finally arrived in Western North Carolina!! ❄️🎿❄️⛷❄️🏂

🆕 ➡️ Our adaptive ski and ride program has moved mountains this season from Beech to Cataloochee Ski Area in Maggie Valley. We believe this is going to be an incredible opportunity for everyone! We're excited about providing another great winter of adaptive skiing!!

Days like this leave us wishing winter would last a little longer🙌💖 Sadie was our very last participant of the season. Part of her 6th birthday celebration was the opportunity to experience skiing with her family. She loves to ski fast and is filled with so much joy!!

Sadie has a very rare neurodegenerative disease called Sanfilippo Syndrome. This disease robs children of their lives by their teenage years. Currently there is no cure. These athletes made our day🙌
We had another awesome weekend filled with adaptive ski & snowboard lessons at Beech Mountain Ski Resort! With the help of our instructors and volunteers, 8 year old Felicity learned to snowboard for the very first time and Marcella & Cameron utilized a bi-ski to slide. There were smiles for miles for our athletes, volunteers, and staff! 💙
