Words have power.

The language we choose when talking about mental health can either reinforce stigma or help break it down. Person-first, compassionate language reminds us that people are more than their diagnosis; we are human beings who deserve respect, understanding, and support.

At SOAR, we believe healing-centered care starts with seeing the whole person. Creating spaces where people feel heard, valued, and safe can save lives.

Every conversation matters. Every word matters.

Let's all commit to consideration and compassion in how we choose our words. πŸ’œ

We’re excited to share a major milestone in SOAR’s continued growth and strategic development.

Over the past several months, SOAR’s leadership team and Board of Directors have been engaged in a comprehensive rebranding process designed to better align our public identity, infrastructure, and communications with our mission and strategic priorities for 2026–2027.

As part of this work, we have transitioned from SOAR Case Management Services, Inc. to SOAR (Supporting Opportunities for Advocacy & Resilience). We will soon launch our new website at soarmadison.org and sunset our existing website.

This evolution reflects the full scope of our work across the community and our continued commitment to lived-experience-based, community-rooted support through both our Community-Based Services and Peer Services divisions.

In addition to our updated brand identity and digital presence, SOAR has also been strengthening internal operations and fundraising infrastructure to support sustainable growth and expanded service delivery in the years ahead.

While our name and public presence are evolving, our core values remain the same: lived experience, autonomy, wellness, community, and justice.

We’re grateful for the support of our staff, funding and community partners, advocates, and supporters as we move into this next chapter together.

Healing in community, rising for justice.

Listening is a powerful act of support.

Creating space for people, especially our youth, to feel heard, respected, and safe sharing their experiences can make a meaningful difference in their healing journey. This Mental Health Awareness Month, we encourage our community to lead with empathy, curiosity, and care. πŸ’œ
