Access to Independence provides resources, services, and advocacy for people of any type of disability, and of all ages. The organization is a disability led and run organization that serves four counties in south-central Wisconsin, providing services such as information and referral; peer support; independent living skills training; advocacy; assistive technology; youth services; and institution

al transition services. Access to Independence also makes an impact in the communities it serves through education, collaboration, outreach, and technical assistance.

🧡⭐️We are so thrilled with this year's Adaptive Gaming Expo! This past Saturday brought together people of all ages and abilities for a fun and unique event open to anyone with an interest in video games, virtual reality, accessibility, disability inclusion, and community building! 🧡⭐️

🎮 Thank you to everyone who came out this year! It was great to see so many folks come out to game, shop, learn, and play at this year's expo. We can't wait to continue to grow this event and continue to make the gaming community more diverse, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.

👾 This event has many moving parts and simply would not be possible without the help and support of many different organizations who helped make this year such a success.

⭐️ The Adaptive Gaming Expo was full of the latest adaptive equipment and full of game play all day! Thank you so much to Access Elevator, Inc. Git Gud Lounge, Midstate Independent Living Choices, Inc. Independence First - The Resource for People with Disabilities, Society's Assets, Isthmian Gaming and our very own Ben Hinkel at Access to Independence for setting up such a great display this year!

⭐️Thank you to Professor Michael Biehler of UW-Madison Industrial and Systems Engineering Department and his team for hosting a very successful Build Your Own Controller Workshop! It was really amazing to see people complete and play a game with a controller they built from scratch!

🎮Tomorrow, August 22nd from 10am-4pm. FREE!

Thanks to a partnership with 4imprint we were able to get some really cool swag for this year's event! The first 100 people at the expo will get a color changing cup and a microfiber cleaning cloth for free! 🤩

I also heard that there will be some free pastries in the morning coming from Just Bakery/ A JustDane Initiative 😋

We're just days away from the 3rd Annual Adaptive Gaming Expo! A fun, free, and inclusive gaming experience for players of all abilities! We're so excited to be partnering with MYArts-Madison Youth Arts Center for this year's expo. Check out this parking information below to help with your game day planning. 🎮

-The Arden Apartments has a paid parking garage adjacent to MYArts with an entrance from Ingersoll Street.

-MYArts can be entered from inside the Arden parking garage on the first floor.

-The rate is $2/hour, with a max of $12 per day, and $25 for a lost ticket.

-People with disabilities can park in the ramp for free! Just let the front desk know that you qualify, and they will give you a validated exit ticket.

-Free street parking is available on Ingersoll, Mifflin, and Brearly streets.

*Please do not park in the Lapham Elementary School parking lot.

We're just one week out from the 2026 Adaptive Gaming Expo!

We wanted to thank the expo planning committee who has worked tirelessly on putting together what we think is going to be our best event to date! This photo was taken at the beautiful MYArts-Madison Youth Arts Center during one of the planning committee's tour.

The folks at MyArts have been incredible to work with and we're excited to be using close to the entire fourth floor to bring together gamers, community resources, vendors, keynote speakers, free workshops, and much more!
