Monday, October 12th, we are celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Day, a day to recognize and honor Indigenous communities' rich histories and contributions. We acknowledge that the land we are on is the original home of the Pawtucket and Massachusett tribes, and it's important to remember the ongoing impacts they face.

We are committed to creating a space where stories can be shared, and voices can be heard, helping to resist the erasure of Indigenous cultures and experiences.

As a reminder, RAW is closed today in observance of this important day and will reopen Tuesday, October 13th.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate RAW youth who are expressing pride in their cultures, identities, and heritage through art. Each work carries a personal story and together, they reflect the creativity, strength, and richness of our community. Through the creative process, young artists honor where they come from, explore who they are, and imagine what is possible when we create and grow together.

RAW proudly celebrates the rich and interconnected identities, cultures, traditions, stories, and contributions of our Hispanic and Latino communities, during Hispanic Heritage Month and throughout the year!

Art featured is by Cesar and Jealline. These pieces are currently on display as part of our 2026 Undercurrents gallery.

Photos from RAW's visit last week with Lynn's very own The Clay School ! We had the chance to check out their amazing creative space located at the historic Lydia Pinkham building. We are so grateful to Kirsten at TCS for letting us use the space, Vicky for facilitating, and for letting us get to know a new medium and explore the art of ceramics. We created "phone jails", a designated place to put our phones away so we can be more intentional and mindful when it comes to screen time. We discussed the negatives and positives of social media, and ways to have conversations with youth in our building about boundaries and protecting themselves online. This was such a special day, and we can't wait to see how our pieces look after their first round in the kiln! Result photos coming soon. 📵🦋🎨

RAW is closed monday, 8/24 until Friday, 8/28 for some much needed rest and relaxation. Here are some photos from our Core group this summer. Core is a group dedicated to helping youth artists build portfolios for college applications and career opportunities. This summer, teens had the opportunity to design their own canvas bags using fabric pastels, played with watercolor to create still lifes, and went outside for some plein air exploration. It was a wonderful week full of color, creativity, and lots of laughs!

RAW wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to Essex County Community Foundation for making our 2026 Block Party art installation possible. This 4-story masterpiece created by our community members in collaboration with RAW Artist Ocean is still adorning our building. Words of welcome and belonging are shining out onto Central Square, projecting out the message that RAW wants the entire city of Lynn to feel: this is a space built by the community for our community, and everyone is welcome here.

We are extremely grateful to everyone at ECCF for their ongoing support of our mission to ignite the desire to create and confidence to be seen in our youth. The impact of this project has gone beyond our Exhibit Opening + Block Party celebration, lasting deep into the summer and greeting our neighbors and each of our young artists as they walk into our building everyday. These words are so meaningful in all of us Central Square, and we are so thankful! ❤
