🎷 HEADLINER SPOTLIGHT: JONATHAN SUAZO 🎷

The Lynn Music Foundation is honored to welcome acclaimed saxophonist, composer, educator, and cultural storyteller Jonathan Suazo as the headlining performer of the 2026 Lynn Music Festival!

Jonathan Suazo is one of the most exciting voices in contemporary jazz today. Named one of the Top Ten Emerging Jazz Artists of 2023 by the Recording Academy (GRAMMYs), Jonathan’s debut album Ricano was recognized by The New York Times as one of the Best Jazz Albums of 2023.

Now, Jonathan arrives at the Lynn Music Festival fresh off the release of his highly anticipated new album, RICANO VOL. 2: FRUTO DE MI CORAZÓN, released on May 8, 2026 through Miel Music, the label founded by acclaimed saxophonist Miguel Zenón.

The Ricano project began as a celebration of Jonathan’s Puerto Rican and Dominican heritage, combining the words Puertorriqueño and Dominicano into a single cultural identity: Ricano. While the first album explored questions of heritage and belonging, Fruto de Mi Corazón (“Fruit of My Heart”) reflects Jonathan’s journey through faith, marriage, and fatherhood, inspired by the birth of his daughter Cecilia.

Featuring an all-star cast of musicians and rooted in Puerto Rican and Dominican traditions such as Plena, Bomba Sicá, Pambiche, Salve, and Cuembé, the album blends those rhythms with the spirit of jazz legends like John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, and Kenny Garrett. The result is a powerful musical statement that is both deeply personal and culturally resonant.

We are blown away by the incredible response to perform at the Lynn Music Festival this year 🙌

Thank you to everyone who has submitted so far! The energy, talent, and love for music in our community is undeniable. This year, we’ve received 5x more submissions than ever before, and it truly speaks to the growth of the festival and the strength of Lynn’s creative scene.

With that said, artist submissions will officially close on April 15th. If you’ve been thinking about applying, now’s the time!

Our goal this year is to spotlight 15–17 new artists who haven’t yet had the chance to perform at the festival. We’re committed to creating space for fresh voices while continuing to uplift the incredible talent across Lynn and the North Shore.

Selected performers will be contacted shortly after the submission deadline.

The Lynn Music Foundation 90’s Prom Gala has been rescheduled and is now happening this Saturday on Valentine’s Day! ❤️

Whether you’re coming with your boo, your crew, or flying solo — we’re turning The Vault into a full-on 90’s dance party for a cause.

🎶 The Funkin Vinyl Crew will be spinning nothing but 90’s heat — Hip Hop, R&B, throwback dance joints — all on vinyl to keep the grooves authentic and the floor packed.

Dust off the prom fits. Break out the velvet, the silk shirts, the windbreakers, the butterfly clips. Let’s slow dance, two-step, and celebrate community — all while supporting youth music education and artist development at the Lynn Music Foundation.
