This Memorial Day weekend, let’s pause to remember the heroes who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy. Their sacrifice is a debt we can never fully repay, but we honor them by living with purpose, gratitude, and unity. Gone, but never forgotten.

Exciting news from the Page County TRIAD!
FAVORITE RECIPIES WANTED - SUBMIT YOUR RECIPIE by JUNE 27

*Speech at TRIAD Conference May 13, Rileyville Baptist Church*
My name is Emily Holder, and I work at the Page County Sheriff’s Office. I would like to add that I am a proud senior and therefore, doubly excited to be part of TRIAD! My brother, former Major, Jason Pettit, was instrumental in getting Page County Triad implemented years ago. TRIAD is near and dear to all of us!

In a recent TRIAD meeting, we discussed creating a TRIAD cookbook! The idea is to honor and remember the premier cooks in our beautiful county and showcase your most mouthwatering and beloved dishes! This cookbook will not be complete without one, or more, of your highly regarded dishes! We want generations to come to have access to their beloved family roots and their most favorite mealtime memories. If we don’t preserve them now, we are doing a great disservice to the tummies of those who will come after us!

Recipes are now being collected for inclusion in the first-ever Page County TRIAD cookbook. These books are sure to be a hit as family Christmas gifts, for purchase at the Page County Fair, Heritage Festival and other events. All proceeds will benefit TRIAD with further resources and activities to be enjoyed by all of us!
Recipe forms are included in this post and can be picked up at the Page County Sheriff’s Office.

Recipes are being collected from now through June 27th. Your name will be included with each submission used in the cookbook. You may also include a personal line or two about the recipe, such as, “I remember this lemonade pie, made by my grandmother for 4th of July picnics in the 1950’s.”

Your completed forms may be dropped off at the Page County Sheriff’s Office, Luray Police Department, Page County Senior Center, or to Richard or Annie Pierce with the Young at Hearts Group/United Methodist Church in Shenandoah.

Every week between NOW and JUNE 27th, your recipes will be collected from these sites and a WEEKLY PRIZE WINNER WILL BE SELECTED from your submitted forms. You may submit recipes every week, which will increase your chances of winning a weekly prize! (Please include your contact number on the back of your recipes submitted.)

All recipes are welcomed from main dishes, casseroles, side dishes, desserts, breads, candies, sauces and jams and even odd recipes such as old-time soap making, cinnamon applesauce Christmas ornaments, popcorn balls, whatever is something we want to preserve the ingredients of for future generations to enjoy!
So, let’s get cookin’! We want all of you to be included in this amazing, group opportunity to spotlight Page County and our incredibly talented cooks!

If you or anyone you know would like to join our committee or have questions or suggestions, please contact me or any committee member listed below.
This is going to be very special! Thank you for your participation!
