We were privileged to host Shirley McGee, Travel Consultant with National Travel, who delivered an outstanding presentation about her role, the free services provided by her organization, and even left us with some helpful airline protocols. Additionally, we had the honor of presenting checks to Lubbock Boys & Girls Club, Lubbock Meals on Wheels, South Plains Food Bank, Texas Girls & Boys Ranch, Phoenix Scholarship with Optimist Club, Lubbock Habitat for Humanity, 100 Black Men of Texas, and Lubbock Children’s Health Clinic a few of the organizations we support. Past District Governor Lion Vance Gipson addressed us and formally inducted Lion Blake, Lion Helen, Lion Daron, and Lion Tommy into the Lions Club. We gained valuable knowledge about the history of Lions Club, including its establishment during World War I by Melvin Jones and the meaning behind our name, Liberty, Intelligence, Our Nations, Safety. The club's initiatives focus on empowering youth, food security, vision care through eyeglass centers, hearing health, and diabetes awareness programs. We reaffirm our dedication to serving others.

Today we assembled snack bags during our lunch in collaboration with Food 2 Kids. This organization provides snack bags to Lubbock ISD, Cooper ISD, and Frenship ISD for weekend distribution. Ensuring we serve our community is a priority and our Lions are committed to this cause. Thank you Food 2 Kids for the opportunity to assist!

When we are not serving, we endeavor to fit in some socializing. We were treated to an exceptional evening featuring outstanding music from Lion Daron and Vernon, and Ted Phea Boys & Girls Club Choir/Dance Team, along with a wonderful venue and meal courtesy of the Lubbock Womens Club. Everyone enjoyed a fantastic time together at our Christmas party, and it was lovely to see everyone so elegantly dressed. 🎉 Lubbock Womens Club
